I'm far too lazy to do any research of my own, so I'm throwing this out there: I need some broccoli in my life. I'd prefer it to be green and/or purple, and it needs to taste a bit like farts whilst I'm steaming it, but not so much that I wouldn't want to eat it. I understand that a simple Google search would suffice and provide far more information than I could possibly expect from a group of largely male geeks, but I refer you back to the first four words of my post. Thanks in advance.
Budget? There are a few good ones out there, just depends on what you want to spend really. The tenderstem broccoli spears from Waitrose are very tasty, but the sainsbury's ones are more purple if thats a preference. I've just had a word with my rabbit, and he enjoys the meatier stems from the standard broccoli crowns, with a preference for Waitrose first, then Sainsbury's, and he won't eat Morrisons or Tesco broccoli. He has those raw, so not sure what they're like when steamed.
I particularly like broccoli stir-fried with soy sauce, ginger and garlic. The broccoli from my local greengrocer's is particularly good for that. He's not local to you, mind, so I'd echo the advice about Waitrose. Tad - what's your rabbit's take on ASDA broccoli?
I'm willing to go as high as £3/kg for good quality stuff, but I'd prefer to keep it under £2.25/kg if at all possible. I won't settle for pre-packaged produce either, it's got to be loose (should have mentioned this in the OP - apologies). I like the steam to smell so rancid that I can taste it, à la air biscuit. Me too, but I've never understood why purple = better.
Just completely out of the blue, but have you thought about eating sausages instead? I used to eat broccoli, but I ate some sausages once and found they were much better than broccoli (sausages don't taste of fart) and I haven't looked back since. EDIT: You'll probably get a better overclock from sausages as well...
What do you think the mods do with members when we've banned them? They pass them to me and I eat them. Case in point. Ergo, I've already eaten sausages. he didn't taste of fart but produces a good many in the several weeks I spent devouring him. Next!
Do you get a better overclock with the casings on or off? And for the highest speeds is it good to go for a low or high meat content?
Freshly picked out the garden and straight into the steamer, spot on. Boy o boy does it make you fart!
Has to be Romanesco Broccoli, because Fractals! Also, tastes divine, like a cross between Brocolli and Cauliflower but with butter added - yet without butter added. But, yeah... the fractals man, the fractals!
