Ahh the badges will go out soon enough, take the last page of posts for example; someone correctly argued their way right up to the last hurdle of stating the answer, then gave up! We're very close now :)

I'll give some extra badges out when we're all done ;)

I've got to say Macintosh again, it's the only thing that makes sense.
Maybe means, you'd expect to see it in those cheesy translucent colours, but Cheese opted for a black one.
    Maybe, we're reading this wrong.
People are assuming that there was something technical about needing a floppy, when lets face it, any data on a floppy can be downloaded off of the internet.
So maybe we should read it out of preference. Like, he had a Mac, didn't like the idea of no floppy drive, so he bought one so that he could easily transfere work between the two computers.

    Grrrr.....I'm going to bed.

lol.. this gives me a headache.. red = fire, white = purity, black = death..

    wtf.. mroe stupid guesses..

a case with interchangable faceplates? and the 2.5" bay is exposed?

some new mobo that wont boot without a floppy attached? MSI? SOYO?

but the clue that really plays with my head is.. 'its not about the quality of my internet connection' meaning.. maybe its related to connectivity of the system to the net?

i dunno, i feel a headache coming on, its time for bed..

why am i trying, i already won a case badge last time..

    <sigh>

    off to bed

Could it have anything to do with your recent review of 4 motherboards?
Including that funky Apogee, with it's included rounded floppy cable, from Chaintech.:D

    Silverprop Cyclone2 / SilverStorm2

"A plain black cardboard box with a sticker on it. That’s how it looks. But when you open it, you find the waterblock, well packaged in foam, the retaining screws and even a floppy disk with the PDF manual. Actually a pretty good bundle if you think about it."

Is it a Fujitsu Siemens LCD Monitor? Cos I was looking at the ones in work now, they are White monitors, and the Fujitsu siemens writing is Red and Black on them, also they need floppies to display properly and the drivers are not on the website.. (looked)

good, not a motherboard, so that leaves us 1 possibility:

    Koolance system cooling goop

    * Jaz has mentioned monitor too, so that couldn't be it
    * There are a couple of mentions of a PSU so that couldn't be it either

now ofcourse we get this possibility only if we state that all of our thinking was correct.

Also, what have most people heard of? And it probably has some liquid in it. To find the correct answer we also have to drop the idea of it needing a floppy, 'cause else it couldn't be correct.

(To give a small example, one could say "mmm...it's an aquarium!" That's one of the possibilities: it costs a lot, it has water in it, and noone would guess it'd need a floppy drive. One could not say "mmm...what would need a floppy drive...I know! it's a digital camera that needs a floppy!" -> wrong, you can't think like that :D)

maybe this here is a trick, maybe he means, not so valuable money-wise, but valuable as in importaint, ie, a required part. hrmm

you needed the floppy drive, but what about a disk, just to rule out any data transfer to/from a floppy for this compo.. :p

Ok so it's smaller than a Tea Cup but it is worth about £150... :naughty:

PS when exactly are you going to review this thing? By the time we finish guessing it'll be time for the 4000 compo..
