Hmm, i am REALLY starting to appreciate your kickass painting

for the last 3 days solid ive bene trying to paint my scooter, so its ready before i turn 16

what a nightmare! getting the bondo smooth is a task in its own, then getting the primer flat and smooth, and then painting it black, sand, black, sand, black, sand etc etc, its taking its toll on me!

you seem to have alot of skillz when it comes to painting!

I think modsquad will agree, prep and patience are key to getting a really good paint job. Taking the time to do it right always shows through in the final product.

I'm watching both your current projects modsquad and your attention to detail really shines through. :thumb:

Very true. The prep-work will make/break any paint job, as I stated before it's not much fun..Dirty-sloppy-time consuming work..The fun starts when you look over your finished paint job and not before (IMO)..

yeah, i know all about prep, ive spent 3 days SOLID on one panel, just on the bondo high fill primer stage, not even reaching colour on that where as the other panel has FINALLY reached its colour stage, but still tons to do on it

    New Aqua-Computer Gear

Some new Aqua-computer stuff for the project:
The Culplex XT and AquaDrive Micro:
Also pictured is the optional copper top for the XT, which is what I will be using
    [IMG]
I like the look of the copper-topped XT, but they are available with the (stock) blue or clear acrylic..
    Copper for SG

    and the AquaDrive micro:

    Nice little block.
The Micro comes in any color you want--as long as it is BLUe.. :hehe:
    But we can fix that....

Shot a few coats of jet black and will add some clear coat when I shoot the case.. :thumb:

Speaking of paint. I should be "at-it" again today/tomorrow..
    Update soon.

    Sexy mate, very very sexy!

instead of skulls i reckon you should just give it some fogging around the edge of the block and around the aquacomputer badge thing (the brushed aluminium thing)

its a nice block, hasnt got much of a water pattern has it though? suppose its better than some blocks that just go round in a U

the cuplex XT looks sweet with the copper top, far nicer than the clear top imo

keep up the good work mate, cant wait to see this finished!

The Aqua-Computer MicroDrive is mounted on the underside of your hard-drive and will occupy a slot in the 3.5" bay area..You will not see much of it when installed. There is no reason to do any extra paint-work on it. I will shoot a few coats of clear on it for a nice shine when I clear-coat the rest of the case, but that is about it..

    I don't know why Aqua-Computer is so "hung-up" on BLUe..Innovatek as well..
All AC's new video blocks are black, but there HD coolers are BLUe only. There AquaInlet reservoir as well, clear acrylic or BLUe.
O-Well, thats why God made paint..
I did get some work done on the graphics layer of the paint job today and will post the pictures tomorrow..

I am seeing these green-skulls in my sleep..then again that could just be the alcohol (40% by volume: :thumb: )...

You should skull-up the aquadrive micro :)

What are you drinking?!??! I mean.... I know 40% (even a bit over .40%) is legally dead, but you'd have to be going somewhere up around 180 proof for that to even be possible (well 81 would do it, but would take forever)

    alcohol + :dremel: = :wallbash: + :waah: + :miffed: + :nono:

You'd have to be doing it intraveinously to get it that high. Probably have to extract some blood just to make room in your system or your blood pressure would be thru the roof. :eeek:

Oh....I guess you were just talking about the beverage itself. :D Well then, cheers and to your health sir. :thumb: Mod on

    More Paint:
Working on the 5-skull side panel. I added a little more green to help make the skulls "pop"..
Then it's a matter of going back in with jet black to fade the skulls into the cases backround.
I also decided to "lose" the fogging on this panel. Some times less-is-more.

The front panel will also remain Spartan.. black.. It will get some green UV acrylic at a later date.
The clear coat is up next.
    I will be using PPG's 2.1 speed clear..$55US a quart!!
    So, more painting&wet-sanding to come..

Thanks..I need to get a coat of clear on all this stuff ASAP..To help protect the paint from dust&dirt..
The AutoAir paint is H20 based, so all you can do is tack-rag before clearing..
Shooting clear is more fun, you start to see what you really have.. :thumb:
