Get some really cheap Panaflo fans: everything from 40mm up to 120mm I ordered a 120mm and i got it the next day good service.... http://www.dorothybradbury.co.uk/
She's a member of our forums even Quality service and good prices. Plus its one of the ONLY places to buy them in the uk.
Yer I have bought a couple of fans from there aswell, only place in the UK to stock them I think, really good service, both orders recieved next day. Superb
Have you tested them in a case or are you going by manufacturer’s statistics? The 120mm Panaflo in my case is the quietest fan I've had (and I undervolt all my fans) it also works well at low voltage (whereas some do not start or have a pronounced whir or rattle) and its fairly cheap considering the quality.
can't say i have tested it, but my antec fan works very well at 7volts and also i usually put it on monitoring very quiet!
Too bad she doesnt ship old school Panaflo anymore, they are rebadged as NMB-MAT now, different specs too. How I now realise I need a 80mm H1A ='( ! cant find anywhere in the UK anymore.
I don't mean to offend, but try kitting out your PC with the things, those are not cheap. Maybe cheap compared to other options, but definately not cheap. To kit out a stacker case, would cost me about £100. Doing that with generics or even just not highcost fans I could do it for under £40. Good shop though, and one of, if not the only panaflow supplier in the UK.
The specs should be the same... NMB-MAT and Panasonic merged in 2004 so you should be getting the same fan.
Look, Dorothy B is an excellent source of quiet fans, she also cherry-picks the best for low-noise for the home user and sells the less worthy to lesser demands, but this isn't Bargain Bin material tbh. Post in BB when she has a Sale on. And if you really want to know what makes fans tick and the truth about Chinaflo v Japaflo, read her posts (jafb2000) in this thread, highly informative. Since when has that been a consideration? Or do you buy expensive circuit boards and put them in a rattly tin can with a generic psu to save a few bucks? These days people often use a sound system on the PC, they don't want a hair-drier running in the background. Moving to Modding.
Since ever, that is the law of computer suply. People buy Q-tec's, connect ultra-x and all sorts of crud because its flashy or cheap. People always cut corners in the PSU area Theres a thread over at fm where somebodys connect ultra-x (that modular that everyone seems to think is somehow decent) has blown out and taken hardware too.
I understand what you're saying, but the title of the thread "Panaflow Fans Cheap" - well, when you follow the link and to deck your case out in fans costs over £100, that ain't cheap. Just me nitpicking though
Ah PC-World, if only they gave me a staff discount for having a PC-World T-shirt...its not my fault I ended up with it, I didn't ask to pay my brother £5 to get one for me just so I could confuse the customers
