Looks like I'm going to have to find a supply of these cases...could make my fortune :D

Thanks for all the encouragement...makes a difference.

Still need ideas for colour....I'm fixated with matt black and dark red but certainly open to suggestions.

    Silver and Blue colour scheme?

You want somethign that will make it look nice in the house if you are going to have it sitting around.

I also have no doubts that if it is gonna be in any room in the house, your wife will use it to put something on. Probably a nice plant or books :p

Also must say Kudos on the awesome project!

    Eye Candy Update.

Just recieved a big box from those nice people at Alphacool.de.
Living in Ireland can be a pain as no stores here seem to stock any kind of decent watercooling or modding gear. Alphacool have a great range, rapid delivery and I've never known them to be out of stock of anything I've ordered.

    On with the show...

The box of goodies tastefully diplayed.

Got three of these fans. Nice and quiet but with fair airflow. Silvery too :D

    Mystery picture.

All is revealed. Its a nice big sheet of black AC Ryan mesh.

No so much an update, more just showing off :thumb:
More actual modding at the weekend when work has stopped getting in the way.
Keep the comments and suggestions coming.

I remember those - huge black cases with a couple of 5 1/2" floppy bays, right? Did my "O" level Computer Studies on them :hip:
Good mod - it's set me to thinking. I have a dual P3 server sitting in my study that I've been wondering what to use for - it's too loud to use inside (it's got about 500 of the noisiest fans ever, and is louder than the vacuum cleaner). I've got a few EPIA PCs running as servers - I might see if I can put them all in the case, along with the routers and switches - everything in one box...

    Looks good!

Personally I wouldn't have put the reservoirs outside the case...it's big enough already!

    Cheers

    cool.
big cases are TEH best ;) (see sig)

my girlfriend knows not to challenge me when it comes to av eqipment, cars, or computers being too fast/big/flashy. My ego demands stroking! wait that didn't sound right...

i like the placement of those reserviors. and the long ovalish windows, i have something similar i'm working on.

Would have updated yesterday but was forced at gunpoint to install new kitchen cabinets. At one point it was suggested I use my Dremel to shave down a stubborn corner....thats just silly talk :D

Anyway, a little more progress today.

Got some of the mesh cut to fit the front panels. One section behind the res's and another for the rad panel.

Also playing with making a panel for some of the switches. Picked these up in Maplin. Blue and red momentary ones for the 'on' and 'reset' plus the black locking ones for CCFL on/off.

Don't like the mesh panel though so I may use the old floppy bay and some plexi..painted to match.

A little more detail of the mesh with the res's fitted.

Can't put it off any longer so I started on filling the holes and dings in the front panel. I really hate this kind of thing!

    Thats it for today.
Any and all comments and suggestions very welcome.

I think the Rads would still be better inside, but exernal mounts are becoming more applealing.

    grat work with the mesh!!

I do appreciate your view but those resevoirs are such lovely bits of kit that I feel it would be a shame to hide them away, and just imagine a 10cm UV cold cathode behind each res with some nice UV reactive water dye :thumb:
