    I like it :D

So the big companies "I wont possibly deal with these "pirates"" policy has backfired ?

Apparently one of the conditions agreed for the Russians being accepted in to the WTO was that all pirate music sites, and they included ALLofmp3 in that, be shut down by june 2007. It seems they are not doing anything illegal,(so are they "pirate") they have a system to pay royaltys etc. The link to the original article explains it.

So, if the RIAA is really bothered, why don't they just get all the artists they cover to write to the site asking for all their music to be taken down thus giving allofmp3 nothing to sell? The RIAA really are hard to fathom sometimes.

This isnt about the royalties, this is about the RIAAs blind quest to conquer music downloading and piracy to stick to it's old and busted business model. They can control CDs, but not music sites.

Seems like they are just trying to shut it down just because, as they have not heard from anyone who has a problem with allofmp3.

It's like a catch 22. They don't want to be seen dealing with ALLofmp3 for fear of legitimizing it, at the same time ALLof mp3 are saying they need to deal with them so they can take those artists down. All this is getting interesting, the Russians do not like being told what to do in their own country by anyone else, so the issue could become less important than the principle.

The RIAA wants them down, and obviously the artists don't mind as they haven't sent any letters, so its just the RIAA being, well, EVIL.

And I refuse to make RIAA a word in my dictionary, you can stay with that red squiggly underline for all I care.

Seem to still be up. I see they have added a blog page about various **AA / IP issues on the page. They need to do a forum as well. I can see AOMP3 becoming a clearing house for information and action to change IP law :thumb:

Not that I want (or rather would be seen to be wanting) slow painful death for the RIAA and its associates, but why oh why aren't the music biz bigwigs receiving a dose of Russian radioactive loving instead of some talkative ex spy? Completely screwed up priorities, that's what I think.

Nah, The **AA makes money for the USA so it's protected.

Besides - All countries follow proper legal procedures when it comes to spies and terrorists :worried: :worried: .oO( )
