I want two tail light!!! They look so "strange" but , omg, they are cool! Now I'm not sure how do you will use them, but I can wait the next update...
For the strange piece by Indian Larry , it's a really quality part, and I would like to be in your mind to see how do you want to use it, but it's a cool piece to ha in your mod! Sincerly, I can't wait to see how the work will be... :-]

I didn't understand why it was just a 4-star project. I voted and now it's 5 stars again, just what it deserves. Great project, great details :)

Damn those lights are sexy. And I believe that is a flywheel? or possibly a sprocket cover? Either way it's very bling as well.

Thats a clutch plate - one of the sexiest! Like a ten-shot revolver. I don't know exactly how your are going to incorporate those tail lights... but I like the old Chrysler tail lights that came off the fins. Not like a Cadillac "bullet" light, but more like a boats bow.

Anywho - I'm liking the new shiny goodies. :D

Sorry for not being more specific about that IL component. 2J is correct.. It's a clutch plate for old-school (1936-1984) HD..

ends up looking like this installed on a bike. It measures about 150mm around and is machined from billet Alu. I have decided, it will become the window for the aquatube. Well, not a window.. The only view will be red-light through the (10) holes in the plate.
the finish is "very good", but I plan on doing some polishing to achieve that "almost-chrome" look.. I wish I had the skill/CNC to produce parts like this. BUt, alas-- Even on sale (half off) this was an expensive part (and I need two)..But, when all is said and done it will (should) look kickass. I like to think Indain Larry would have sanctioned this project...
    NO-FEAR..
I have high-hopes to start working on the side-panel later today..
    Until-then..

OMG, the clutch plate was an interesting item to add to your mod, but now tha I see exactly the form, whoa, it's much more interesting!
I can't dare to imagine how does it cost, but it worth every penny...

    Side Panel:

Started work on the side panel (MB backside)..
map-out the location for the twin blow holes and the IL window:
The IL aquatube window is a EZ mod. Just a matter of drilling a series of (10) 18mm holes to match the clutch cover and a center mounting hole (8mm)

used a step drill bit (unibit) another of my favorite tools:
on to the dual 100mm blow holes for the radiator intake:
used the largest holesaw I have, then finished with a jigsaw:
then on to the plastic covers:
    cut to lenght (about 20mm):

    installed:
the IL clutch cover window, not finished. I need to polish the clutch plate a bit and purchase some mounting hardware..
That is it for this weekend. Until next time..

I think you are right greeny. I had (originally) intended on using/doing the grill-mod that frodo re-posted the pictures of... But, after looking/thinking..

it's done.. nice clean, Spartan-look.. Sometimes, less is more.. This is what is great about doing a PL.. Feedback from your contemporaries and stepping-back and looking at pictures of your own work... Both very helpful....

looking back through the log, i cant find where (or if) you say where you got those plastic tubes from. i know they are made for speaker box ports, but i cant find anywhere that has them. i am looking at them for a mod i have coming up, but in order to do that i need to know where to find them :sigh:
those holes just look so freaking CLEAN with those on there too!

    from FrozenCPU
the "lip" is about 10mm. Which hides your 100mm hole-cuts-edge. They are very nice, and only $6US..

i kindof answered my own question by searching, and found them on ebay. i would rather buy them from a store/e-store, but i found a set of 4 4" ports for about 10 shipped. you may want to check there if you need anymore and you arent sponsored by frozencpu.
