@elliod: Its going to the customer empty but hopefully it will be relatively high-end stuff. I actually will have at least one, most likely two more cases on the way that will be done by the end of two months, so stay tuned for those.


Working all day today and this entire week so there should be substantial progress. I already have enough material for an update so that should be coming tonight if I have time. Busy busy week. Stay tuned.

Time for another update. First, a tool that i forgot.

Hammer:

This is the hammer I use for the chisel work (no nailing) and it works great. Its 375 grams which is heavy enough to do the job without being too much work to use.

Now, to continue on with the frame. Each of the upper cross members needed to be mitered so that they fit together. Here is what I mean:

And next, you can see what I have planned (if its owner approves the design that is). I spend a good day mocking this up. The cardboard is spruce and the shoji are made of Cherry. The emblem on top is the client's family symbol which should double as a fan grill.









Let me know what you think guys. The side design is set but i'm still trying to figure out what I think about the top.

Also, here is a sneak peak of a new case. The white is cocobolo wood put together with copper rods and half lap joints. The black is black acrylic.

btw, why is yuugou empty?

 

That's actually just the wood from it. I'm actually using Yuugou on my desk for FEAR. The reason why its not together is i'm still having psu problems so I still have my cooler master psu ghetto rigged... and the pump still has a crack.

It works great though.

Yes yes I know. That'll actually have to wait until sometime next week. I'm swamped with work at the moment as this is the last week the shop is officially open (and I have a project, final, and magazine article due tomorrow). I'll get to it next week though, along with updating that darn website
