You might remember me as the maker of Yuugou and Sangaku pictured below. Well, I'm back with a brand new case, however this time, it is for a customer.

    Project Nakamura

I'd like to introduce to you, Project Nakamura. I was approached by a client after the release of Yuugou who was interested in an HTPC type case which turned out to be great since that was where I wanted to take this. He is half Japanese and wanted me to incorporate his family symbol (below) and I've turned it into the main influence of the case lines.

The case I will be using as a base will be the SilverStone SG01 which will serve as beautifully made chassis that will accept a Yuugou-esque frame.

Here are some pictures of the chassis.

The main woods will be Cherry for the frame and shoji, and Sitka Spruce for the panels.

This old growth spruce has an amazing grain. This piece has over 250 rings alone.

As for the design, the influence of the client's family symbol is evident.

As always, I'm very much looking forward to sharing this project with you all and your comments and suggestions are much appreiciated. If all goes well, I'll get a good start on the wood this weekend. Stay tuned, this will be a relatively quick project.

Incredibly cool. The best carpenter BT has ever seen is at it again!

I think you should cut that logo out of a thick piece of steel, then grind it down into a throwing star-like razor blade edged thing, polish it and stick it on the front or something. Maybe white LED accent lights for it?

Why can't we have computer cases like these on the market :(
Seriously, I haven't found one computer case that makes me say "WOOOOOW", until I saw your cases.

Antec: nice build, but not very nice outside
Lian-li: toooo... mac'ish, and doesn't have great Antec features (for me, it's overly expensive)
Silverstone: nice, nice price, does not have Antec great features.
ASUS: plastic-o-rama (well it looks like it from the outside, and the Ferari doors)
Termaltek: err... not for me, I find it bad
Cooler master... it's a grid, or has everything to make your computer make as much noise as possible
A-open: 2 in 1! GREAT DEAL! Computer noise amplifier + ugly design! how can you lose :)

I got a SG-01 for my gaming system as well, and I love it. It's a very nice base to biuld on.

    Good luck!

Hey guys, Thanks very much for the comments. I did a bit of work this weekend mocking stuff up, cutting some wood, and trying to figure out exactly how to build this thing (i'm not used to using stock cases) but its coming together and I should have an update later this week.

@ottzen: I've actually needed a break for a while, since i missed spring break due to Yuugou but when you get the opportunity to get paid (a good amount) for what you love, you can't pass that up.

Thanks Zhangmaster, I was wondering what it was called :thumb:

@GoodBytes: It would be great to get a list of the best things about the best cases and make a super case. Of course the looks would be subjective and I know there are people who think my cases are ugly. I have another project coming though where I will be using the same chassis and doing something that could be a bit more marketable (ie cheaper) but just as cool.

Thanks a lot guys, i appreciate your support. Stay tuned for updates.

    @greensabbath:
The problem with that is, that your case would be probably the most expensive case ever build, and design for well me and me only.
For example, I may not want a motherboard tray, but someone else will, and so on.
