felt it here aswell nothing on the bbc, knew i could count on bit for up to date breaking headlines! in birmingham by the way. bloody scary, my first.lol. im no longer an earthquake virgin!
yup i felt something, had my headphones on and was playing Forza, then my desk was shaking haha, it felt quite odd.
For all the people checking news websites such as the BBC - its 1am, people are asleep. I'm only awake as I have a deadline in 10 hours....
i don't think there is a person around here that could have missed that one, would have easily woken me up. It isn't pleasant when you're in a crumbling victorian terraced house on the 3rd floor.
http://geofon.gfz-potsdam.de/db/eqpage.php?id=gfz2008eadu a 5 on the scale apparently somewhere near grimsby
I thought maybe a truck has crashed into the garden wall or something at first, or a really low plane? next thing i thought of was the 2 enourmous oil refinerys not far from here, and everyone always says if they go bang we're all dead!
I wondered if something like that had happened, but after about 3 seconds I realised I would've heard a bang of some kind... That and I'm in a terrace...
my flatmate was having a pee, I thought he was just being a bit too energetic with the shakedown at first untill the tv started to wobble. Then I thought it was a bus.
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php That was cool, I'm in Manchester, always wanted to feel one, and that was really cool, only lasted about 8 seconds though, going to have to move to San Francisco me thinks! 4.7 is what the BBC and USGS are saying. I've missed the last 2 in Manchester so i'm glad i stayed up late!
