    Good evening. (here in belgium)

I did some little work today
I've changed the standard white fanconnectors with uv blue ones.

    before
    [IMG]

    after
    [IMG]

This are the harddisk I will use in this mod. There are 2 of these mounted already in the case, but there will come two more.
So I will have 4 harddisk with a capacity of 320GB.

    installed in case
    [IMG]

I've sawed some plexi plates with a width of 21mm.
These will be placed around the motherboard.

    glueing...

Here two ccfl's will be placed. The acryl around the motherboard will light up blue. :)

Picture of plexi that will glued around the motherboard. The savings you see are for the cables. (motherboard, ide,...)

    Thanx for the comments!!:)

The first thing I did today was awing a acryl panel for the power supply
With panel I mean 3mm uvblue acryl.

Then sawed a panel for the top of the case.

    edges sanded and flamed
    [IMG]

8 eight corners with the same dimensions
    [IMG]

    glued two corners together
    [IMG]

flamed with a gasburner, some airbubbles, i've heated it a little it to much
    [IMG]

    glued on the case
    [IMG]

    all 4 corners in place
    [IMG]

Then I drilled 4 holes in the top panel.
Threaded threads in the corner glued on the case
The top panel will be fastened with 4 machine screws. The heads will be painted black.
On the picture the screws aren't turned in.

    with tape removed

I'm not going to fill it with mineral oil. But indeed, it can be done.

Picture of the cpu cooler i'm gonna use.

Nice one, I suppose you're gonna use a retention bracket with it, right?
If yes, which one? (unless it comes with one)

@ p3riod: Yes, I will use the retention bracket that was delivered with the cpu cooler.

    UPDATE:

    I didn't like this cable.

    Solution, sleeved with black.

In the meantime the GLS had delivered my parcel with the processor. (amd x2 6000+)
The cooling past I used Arctic Cooling MX-2. (the best isn't it?)
Then I installed the processor and the cpu coolers bracket, to make it possible to mount the retention bracket.

    Cpu cooler in place.

    Temporary test elabortion.

I have found something good what will make almost all cables invisibly.

Firstly a picture of the motherboard mounted in the case.

    Sawed some uvblue acryl panel.
Then drilled a hole with a clocksaw.

I want to make 2 canals for the harddisks. But this a another great advantage. If I paint these two panel black, then I can hidden all the cables in there. Consequence: cables not visible!

So, what do you think of it?
    Good idea painting them black?

    Thanx. :)

If I paint one side of the panel. And i use uv light on the non painted side.
Is it still gonna be uvblue? I mean will the acryl panel light up?

Sure it'll remain UV reactive, the paint won't affect the acryl's properties...

Being belgian myself, i wondered where you could buy the acryl panels? I'd need some for the mod i'm planning to do.

As I was saying earlier that I was gonna paint the tunel panels black.
    Here is the result.

    picture of sideview
    [IMG]

Here, i've placed a laserled on top of the panel. I think i'm gonna light the plexi up with that.
It give 3 uv beams in the dark. You cannot see the light good now because its not dark.

PS: with a laserled I mean this

Try to take better pics of the uv light, but its kinda hard to get it good.

Painted the laserled black in stead of silver.

    I have also to question.
What happens you you file the head of an led flat in stead of convex?

    Thanx @ above!! :)

This morning I mounted the switch in the case.
For hidden the cables, I used an alluminium tub that i painted black.
