Congrats on the paint. It came out really nice. Should have taken the pics BEFORE the Guinness - way fuzzy - [IMG]

Just kidding! I hate when I have something to show off and the camera and the operator(ME!) are not nearly as good as what I'm trying to photograph. I guess good modding does not necessarily mean good pics. Maybe we could start a thread on how to take pics. I waste more than I show!

The colors go well together I think. Any darker blue and it would look like a pre-school toy for little kids. You made a good choice.

john - I know Guinness is only for scale shots.

    Another update:

But before I fully get underway, a way back I asked you all which side panel you preferred, well now that I’ve got it back from the sprayers you can really tell how it will look.

    So A:

    Or B:

    Random shots:

    The main bit :p.

So after I got the case back I took it straight back to the grounds keeper to pop rivet the roof back on and glue the side panel on with clear silicon:

:D the side panel is now finished. The grounds keeper doesn’t mind doing this kind of stuff for me as he likes making shiz for example his Daleks :p:

So when I got home I had two parcels awaiting me:

My UV blue 3/4 coils and some worm clamps.

I then got back down to some modding (or assembling :p ):

Putting the U trim back on properly:

    Putting the front fans in:

The roof fans with the temporary rad installed as I still need to flush it out:

    The front minus the bezel:

Putting the back fans and rad on (I haven’t decided if this is where I put the rad or if I install it on one of the front intake fans) :

Wiring up the front bezel again:

Thanks a lot everyone and like always any feedback and comments are more than welcomed.

The colour is growing on me. As for the side fan, no mesh looks soooo much better.

I'm going to polish it very soon, so you may like it then but thanks for the comment man :D

    Thanks guys!

One thing though, won't it let so much gorram dust in though?

Wow, it's looking good. I hope you're doing something nice for your groundskeeper, he rocks for giving you all that assistance. Tell him those Daleks are wild and that bit-tech loves him. :)

back on topic, I'm liking the bright colors. Wasn't sure about the combination and brightness, but it's definitely flashy, especially with the metallic fans and such, but if you like it, that's all that matters, really.

No mesh does look better, especially since you have no mesh on the front fans. I do worry about chopping into inquisitive or clumsy fingers without something there (and moving it safely, so you don't break a fan blade.) As for the dust, maybe you could put the mesh or filter on the back side of the fan (inside of the case.) A filter would be better than mesh if you wanted a dust free case, since dust is pretty tiny and would go through that mesh anyhow.

he is awesome :D. I gave him some chocolate :p and said thank you. He is looking forward to the next project..I think :)

Thanks for the comments on the paint, yer i do like it a lot but I can imagine how it isn't to everyones taste :p.

Mounting mesh on the other side is a very good idea actually, I'll see if that works today, and with the dust filters can you buy any that are that big? If you can I would love a link :).

    Thanks Modminded

I'm not sure of a link for the dust filters. I bought some stuff from a tool supply store here in the states, that was originally made for paint spray booth. I just cut off the size I wanted. I'm sure you can find filter material large enough somewhere over there, and re-purpose it, though you'll have to fabricate the mounting bits yourself. Others here may know of larger sized pre-made filters.

    Ok big update time.

So I’ll start with some parts:

Sanding down the panel so the side door could close.

I also picked myself up some deionised water to flush the rads out with.

    So… on with the build.

Starting to hose and wire up (btw the case has absolutely no way of cable managing as the side panel has about 2mm clearance from the whole case):

    Filling the case up:

The case 99% complete. I just have to re do the window a bit and change some screws on the top. I hope you like it:

What he ^ said! :) That's a very bright case... sure you need all those CCFLs?
I like the tubing and block shots, purty. You gotta do something about all those wires, though! Also I can see that there was no space for the fan controller up front, but I wonder if you could mount it somewhere so you didn't have to open the door to access it.

Thanks a lot The boy 4rm oz :)

It's not that bright when you see it in person. It is right by me on my desk and it is fine there :)

There is no where to put the cables at all, but I will cable tie them together to make it look a but neater. The fan controller in the case is fine there as it is only to keep the exaust fans at a certain noice level and I will rarely have to change the speed.

    Thanks for the input.
