I just dropped off the chassis at Rob's Custom Powder Coating so in a week or so, I should have a nice gloss white chassis to mount stuff too!

Congrats on the sponsor and nice modding so far. Your case is liable to fly away with all those fan going. The colors are great and I voted for red and white.

 

We would have gotten in trouble for chattin if we met there...lol

First of all I apologize for the lack of progress recently. This is mainly because of 2 reasons

1. Its hard to get much done without all the components here (chassis is still out at powder coating).
2. Job has been eating a lot of time recently. (not really a bad thing though)

I did cut the side window this weekend but I am not happy with it so I will be starting that piece again. I am redesigning the window to a simple rectangle to allow for the fan control knobs to be mounted on the side as well as a possible LCD display. I am not positive as to where the switches will go but here is a quick render of what im thinking so far. More progress to come soon...




Edit: I finally gave up looking for a used A380 so I ordered an A380Color off NewEgg so I will have plenty of spare parts!

 

First of all I must mention beinga long time Flight Sim fan, I like your build lots and am following it closely. I like red-white color scheme.. Only am not so sure about placement of ur knobs and switches either. If the case is going to be used on a desk on the right side of the user it will be fine, but then sound of those fans could be a slight problem as they will be very close to the user. How about adding a custom made extra box to somewhere on top front to house all the knobs and switches together with the lcd?? Some back lit panel would also suit the "flight box" scheme.. just an idea to be considered..

 

That final render will look epic any modding progress?

Nothing to show off lol. Once all the components come together there will be a lot of progress. Hopefully the new case and the chassis will show up around the same time. I may also have a water jet lined up now to cut the side window. So the next two weeks I should make a lot of progress.

Thanks! The case will most likely be on the ground to the left of the desk so the sound shouldn't be too bad. Plus the big 250mm fans are very quiet. The placement of the switches/knobs isn't final by any means and I will have to look into your "flight box" idea.
