FINALLY an update. Sheesh guys sorry i've taken so long :(

    LOL thanks man :D

That's almost exactly what i've chosen to do ;)

Heya Phillip :D YEah man, that would be a great name, but you'll see now why i didn't go with that ;)

UPDATE!!! Holy moley, it's been ages. Endorphin is getting an update soon as well :p

    Anyway.

First off, my goodies from Logic Supply arrived:

The HDD, RAM, PSU, and powerbrick:

HDD and RAM. 160GB Seagate Disk and 1GB Transcend DDR2 667:

The Serener PSU. This thing is insanely small:

    Another shot of the RAM:

    Here's a FULL PC:

    Compared to a Rubik's Cube:

Compared to a Swiftech Storm waterblock:

    And lastly, the powerbrick:

    All hooked up and running:

Then it was down to design. I spent so much time doing this. I went from design idea to design idea, and finally settled on something unique - A Rubik's cube :D

This is how the board will sit inside the case:

VIA also gave me rights to use their logo:

    Some colour:

    A clay render:

    And two colour renders:

I plan on having the cube machines out of Alu, and then having the Alu anodized black.

Please also watch these two videos i've made for the project. The first is the Pico ITX unboxing clip:

    Pico ITX Unboxing Video!

And the second is a video log of what i've done so far. Part 1 :)

Pico Rubik's Cube - Video Log Part 1

Please let me know what you guys think so far :)

Make the colour blocks with perspex! Then apply a dark film tint ( like car tint ) on the back, then when you light up from the inside, you can see all the internals :D

Good plan so far though, i like it, very original ;)

    Looks like a cool design.

The volume of space taken up by the cables and adapters could be a challenge for you. The USB adapters take up a ridiculous amount of space. I had to pass on the DVI connector in my project because of its size. One of the reasons I hung my heatsink outside of the case was so that the mass of wiring wouldn't interfere with the cooling.

Another problem is the lack of an audio out adapter. Mini-ITX.com is selling an interesting adapter that came out too late for me to use. I'd like to see someone try it out. PX-DIO Input/Output Module for EPIA PX

    Good luck with this project.

Interesting Langer. That looks like a modified front panel unit. Here's what the mini-itx.com solution looks like:

It adds power/reset switches, indicator lights and even a SPDIF connector. The nice thing is that is attaches to the Pico-ITX using a single flexible ribbon cable.

The power/reset/lights are on a separate PCB on the unit I'm using. It mounts above the board shown in my pic.
No SPDIF though, but it's also not needed for my setup.

One ribbon connector would be nice, but the USB/switches/lights/and audio connect to different pinouts on the mobo.

Apparently, the setup uses a daughterboard to eliminate having to plug directly into each individual mobo pinout.

I suggest you switch that 2,5 "HDD for a CCF, like I use for my STING project. That HDD is mechanical, makes noise, and breaks down more easily. Also it weighs a lot compared to the CCF.
