Well, I gave you my vote. Not that the other ones aren't, but I think this project is outstanding. Keep plugging away Cheaps.

    :lol:Thanks, everyone.
You guys totally faked me out there. I popped into the forums to find a massive bunch of replies and a few congratulations.
...For a second, I thought, "I won? How the heck did that happen?".:duh: :hehe:
I'm still 17 votes behind the leader.

@Crazycooler - I got it from DeepGroove1. I got the Gecko driver with it. The other one is notoriously problematic. -Cheaper than buying direct from Taig.
@The beast & Phenoptix - You two made me check the voting page with that. Thanks anyway.:hehe:
    @Voigts & Slipperyskip - :D Thanks!
@Perplekks - GAAAAAHHHH! I'll have you know I'm down to the 400 grit pass on the fins. I guess I could put up an update of some of the virtual stuff later.

    OK, It's not much, though...
-Current state of the model. The power button is in the red ring, and the red square is a USB plug.
-Back. There's a lot of the frame that was made without finishing in the model. The basic shape is all I really need here.
-The optical area is what I've been focusing on lately.
-The red bit behind the hinge mounts are fixed to the optical drive cage. It will be made of polycarbonate so it can flex. The hole at the end of the thin curve will hold a BB. I'm hoping this setup will allow me to lock it in the open position, then close it and lock in the closed position. The big problem is how far I had to move it behind the drive, the longer the object is, the more stress is put on the lock. It also moves the two dots that have to be drilled in the opposite side of the hinge closer together.
Once I get the model tweaked, I'll start cutting. My big issues at this point are where to run the cables, and the correct angles on the locking holes.

Wouldn't be an update without this::D

That's a great idea with the ball bearing to make a locking "indent" position, unique!
