As I understand it, the problem here is that crossfire/SLI performance changes drastically between titles, between card generations and between driver updates. So much so that bit-tech's 2 or 3 articles on it so far are woefully out of date and conflicting. There can be no consensus here - the bottom line is, when you go multi-GPU, you take a gamble.
YES. Mine is horribly noisy, I hate it. I wish I'd had a clue when choosing one.

Also, in case any staff are still reading this thread: steering wheels. When you reviewed them, you assumed everyone has a price ceiling of £80, which in this affluent age simply isn't the case. The logitech g25/27 wheels are immensely popular and famous. I'd give my right arm to see a review of either of them. I thought I'd seen one of the g25 ages ago, but can't find it now. I suspect I imagined it, or it was another website.

would still very much like B3 motherboard reviews, please.

and perhaps ATI graphic card reviews, but on eyefinity performance (if you have the time).

Ah, yes, especially the noise, performance shouldn't be an issue (which is why, I imagine, no tests have been conducted for a long time)

Going to have to ask, have you got a Bitfenix Shinobi? It looks really nice(non-windowed) and seems to be a pretty good buy at £50.

It's on it's way, might be a few weeks until we can post the review though as we've got heaps of stuff already here.

B3 motherboard are finding their way to the site as I type. We've requested an eyefinity setup from AMD so that we incorporate the testing forevermore.

I didn't realise people were that bothered with Blu-ray drives - there are special ones that throttle their speed when playing media - but we could do a roundup if people really want. In the meantime, linky to quiet drive:

going Back to SLI and Xfire

I would like to see them included in the Graphics Card reviews, as not everyone can go off and buy the newest card each month it would be nice to see how some of the newer cards fair up to say a 18th month card in SLI or Crossfire that was first launched at the same price bracket.

The test rig itself can cater for this i believe, what do you all think.

    Thx.

well, you've been recommending "any generic DVD-Drive" for a while now, I guess it's about time to update that to a "Blu Ray reading...generic DVD drive" at the least :D

As far as noise goes: the link goes to the Samsung SH-B083L drive, which is stated (also elsewhere) as very quiet, while the similarly priced Samsung SH-B123L drive is scolded as annoyingly loud with Blurays...

    They did already...

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cooling/2010/05/19/graphics-card-coolers-investigated/4

Spoiler: this review will NOT encourage you to go and get one. However... the issue I have with this review is that their results on a 5870 are completely opposite to those I've had on a 4890. The Turbo Pro on my 4890 has been doing a stirling job of keeping the card cool while doing it v.quietly. Fitting was a bit of a fiddle but in theory atleast you only fit it once.

I and no doubt others would recommned it, Bit-tech do not.
