I wonder why the court did not fine Apple for being disrespectful of the court's authority .

 

I think that the court should just line up all the litigants, bitch-slap them and tell them to get back to work. Innovation means staying ahead of the copycats. If Apple does not think it can manage that, it is truly dead.

I've been saying this for years.
Some of the antritrust fines and investigations against Microsoft have been ridiculous, regardless of how dominant/successful the company has been.

 

In the early days they were probably justified, but since late in XPs life I would say MS has been humbled quite considerably.

But yea, on reflection to the kind of **** the EU parliament caused over bundling of IE and WMP, vs what Apple does - come the **** on EU!! Treat everyone the same!

No they aren't small any more!

Their market worth is massive. Don't know exact details of who is biggest globally, but definitely the biggest brand in tech and bigger than Microsoft.
iOS is now arguably the most used consumer OS (if we include smartphones and tablets)
iTunes is the biggest grossing digital marketplace (so I read)
Apple shifts more computers (including tablets in this) than HP - making it number 1 globally
We shifted a few million tablets this year, Samsung a few more than us but Apple sold in excess of 20million. Ten times more than we did! And we were considered a popular/significant alternative.

 

Microsoft is still seen as a monopoly however this is mainly due to when the make the calculations they take all laptops and stationary computers, bot from private and most importantly businesses. it is the businesses that make the difference however many of these PC's are almost ten years old and running windows 2000. this huge amount of old PC's gives the advantage straight to Microsoft however it has nothing to do with the current sales of computers where Microsoft is much smaller.

Apple today is a BIGGER company than Microsoft when looking at many areas, for starters they are making more money than Microsoft.

 

^^^ Apple is indeed much bigger then people think. They are still enjoying there "underdog" status. I really don't see the problem though.
