That is not odd, that is how game distributors work against central Europe :). No Skyrim, no Batman Arkham City (except the cases like me, when preorders were allowed to have the game) and no Rage. Plus many other games. The funniest part ? You can walk in the nearest game store and buy Skyrim, Batman Arkham City or Rage without any issues.

It is region restriction in it's glory. If you preordered Batman Arkham City on Steam (yes, it was available on preorder, it dissapeared 2 days before release), have it gifted from someone who has it available on market or had a Steam code with graphics card, then you have it on your Steam account even if you are from central Europe (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, some other countries to the south or east as well) - but if you want to buy it through Steam, then no luck. Simply these games are available in these countries only in brick&mortar shops, but not through Steam, because publisher blocked sales in these countries. And there is nothing to sort out, it is their "business decision".

A bit off-topic, but they're going after GOG.com as well now. Specifically with regard to The Witcher 2. GOG has apparently been forced to implement a geo-IP policy. Doesn't bode well...

    Happy Christmas everyone!

Typed it out already so here we have it for those who want it with UK prices:

    Dungeons - Steam Special Edition £6.79 (-66%)
    Dungeons - The Dark Lord £9.99 (-75%)
    Atom Zombie Smasher £1.49 (-75%)
    IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 £3.39 (-66%)
    IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover £10.19 (-66%)
    Fallout 3 £3.74 (-75%)
Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition £4.99 (-75%)
    X SuperBox *6 Items* £9.99 (-75%)
    X3 Terran War Pack *Both X3 Games* £4.99 (-75%)
    X2: The Threat £1.24 (-75%)
    X3: Albion Prelude £2.50 (-75%)
    X3: Reunion £2.49 (-75%)
    X3: Terran Conflict £4.99 (-75%)
    X: Beyond the Frontier £0.86 (-75%)
    Overlord Complete Pack £3.74 (-75%)
    Overlord II £1.74 (-75%)
    Overlord £0.86 (-75%)
    Overlord: Raising Hell £1.74 (-75%)
Nuclear Dawn £3.74 (-75%) or £2.81 as part of the 4-Pack
    Football Manager 2012 £20.09 (-33%)
Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition £2.49 (-75%)
    Killing Floor £3.74 (-75%)
    Killing Floor Bundle *7 Items* £5.35 (-75%)
    Call of Duty MW3 £29.99 (-25%)
    Alice Madness Returns £7.49 (-75%)

Frankly if you don't have Fallout 3 GOTY or Batman AA GOTY they are both excellent buys. For the love of god if you are considering Fallout 3 it would be silly not to get the GOTY version with all the expansions for just £1.25 extra.

MW3 isn't as it is cheaper retail and Steamworks anyways, not to mention not worth the money anyways.

So true! Got it in the summer sale for a bit more than they're asking for now. Being a completist I haven't even finished the main game yet and it's been pretty much the only game I've played since installing it back in July... :)

Yep. Providing all your drivers are installed, your PC is powerful enough, etc.

X3 Superbox for me. Hated Batman AA and never really liked the fallout series. Kind of tempted by Alice, but I hear it needs a controller to play properly, so I'll pass.

Officially, no. Some people have gotten it to work, others haven't. Especially Windows 7 x64 users seem to experience problems.

Never had probs with it and since it is on Steam you can be pretty sure it will work unless your PC or windows is ****ed.

So, overall really disappointing steam sales. Just a few games that didn't rate that well mostly.

Ironically the best bargain was on Origin for anyone who didn't have Crysis 2.

    Anyone knowledgeable about X?
Is X3:TC a good starting point? or do I need to go to X3:Reunion? or even further and go back to X2 or just X?

Basically I'm asking if anyone has any opinions on whether I should get X3:TC or the Gold Box or the Super Box

Get the super box, you can play all the games separately, but having the older ones anyway might help fill out a storyline and the X3 universe. It's only a tenner.

    I think they're hilarious.

Never regretted getting them, but check for yourself. There's at least 1 demo there.

This. Just get the SuperBox, I'd very strongly recommend it at that price. It gives you all of the X games including the expansion they just released.
I've spent hundreds of hours on the X series by now. Very niche, very hardcore; but excellent games with a fantastic community built up around them.
