Try the wood from the first render and the rose+jug from the second? That rose and the gold/brass material on the jug look fantastic.
, Thanks. it is the same material just refined. Scale isint really there though. Took me a couple of hours to model and render. Nice to see people liking these NZ made render engines lol (iray and octane). Whoever said iray is better than kerkythea is totally correct, though a free render engine that hasn't been touched since 2008 which primary developers now contribute to Thea render which is far superior again with both speed and functionality...
That looks great Mystiik Although 14h is alot of time :s most of the renders I do with vray take maximum 30min without DoF and 2h with DoF.
Cheers Dark/MindRust! Yes I agree, 14h is a verrryyy long time - although I am new to the software and probably could learn to reduce that time when I get better at it! The DoF on this cannot be turned off, it is all physically accurate, like in real life! So all the DoF is "bokeh" and very nice and realistic Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! More to come ;D
that's what i like with the unbisased renderer, the "real life" effect. I'm actually playing around with indigo now, do you know if you can render alpha channels and materialID passes like with vray ? anyway, i made this yesterday with vray: And this with indigo now, doesn't have the same lighting setup though, took ~6mins:
Just another test render, really enjoying indigo!! Also had a little practice at UV mapping, easier than I thought it would be Stopped the render at just short of 3hours, but it was virtually noise-free after 2hours! I left it for the extra hour to see if it made a difference but noting really changed Highly recommend Indigo Renderer to everyone here!!
Well I got bored of drawing up some plans for an extension so I decided to give 3d modelling a bash, I am just a beginner so can't really compete but here is what I did today. Plans for when I have some spare moments is to add detail to the textures and get a grunge effect some how and to get some stained glass in the windows, then just lights, people, chairs etc.
MicrosoftPerson, thanks, the fabric texture is from cgtextures.com, but with a "falloff" depending on the camera angle, to give it a more "dusty" and realistic feeling. Archtronic, looks nice so far! Did you create that following one of 3dtotal's tutorial ?
I did yes but we don't have 3ds max license at work so I had to use sketchup but I am very pleased at how it turned out modelling wise. I then just used the vray plugin to do a quick render as it was getting late. Not sure if its possible with the sketchup vray version but I need to use UV templates for the texture in the tutorial, something I will have to figure out. Plus normally I would post- process in Photoshop but I want to advance my rendering knowledge first. Still trying to convince my bosses 3ds is worth the money....
Good stuff guys, Dark-the fabric looks great! MicrosoftPerson-That looks like a very cool design, sort of persian/early constantinople era look. Archtronics-Put simply, 3DS is a massive upgrade from SU for archvis. Here's a couple of renders that are couple months old from me. Haven't had much free time recently. ^Click for full size
