1- Some people find MPC an awful video player. 2- MPC doesn't provide thumbnail support in Windows, as it's a player 3- DivX break Windows 7 64-bit codecs. Beside Windows 7 can already play divX (better too, taking more advantage of the GPU) 4- As you mentioned, Shark007 can play odd video files.
Which is the best player for perfect audio sync? I am absolutely fed up of VLC going out, normally about 15 minutes in. Totally breaks the viewing pleasure when I've got to start setting up a delay halfway through. Happens on DivX and MP4
I was basically asking if there were any that people preferred the quality of, not all codecs are the same.
WTH is wrong with VLC? I have never, ever had a problem with it - i think it's fantastic. WMP on the other hand I find awful! I am always open to new things however, so will try Shark at my next format. I don't believe it's an option on Ninite though? Which makes me less inclined to use it...
CPU Pentium G620 2.6 Memory 8GB DDR3 GFX Radeon HD6850 (HDMI into Samsung 40 LCD TV) clean install of W7 on Crucial SSD 64GB, running files off second 2TB WD drive There is no stuttering, the video is perfect, it's just that on a large percentage of videos the audio drifts out of sync as mentioned. I was playing DivX files on my 300mhz Pentium without these issues so I am at a loss really...
I admit I like the thumbnail feature (Icaros) I had some thumbnails that came out in Vista and win7 beta but not win7 home premium, weird. So I added the file type to the exceptions and they appeared. Shark007 from forum......
So how come the VLC codec's aren't as good as the system codecs? VLC pretty much admits this in the options, at least it did. Maybe there isn't a difference between 007 and win7 codecs but codecs are always improving.
I personally used CoreAVC purchased it years ago and never looked back. http://corecodec.com/products/coreavc
MPC + CoreAVC has always led to good times, no problems here really, apart from subtitles randomly not working sometimes which I can deal with I guess.
