Found it in preorder here (but no estimated date) : http://www.materiel.net/carte-graph...70-dcuii-top-2-go-gtx670-dc2t-2gd5-78573.html
Found one at Pixmania as well, ain't gonna order from that company though! http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/11984002/art/asus/geforce-gtx-670-directcu.html
lol £450? nty. I thought it would be about £25 more than the standard DCII at most. lol @ 100 also yeah pixmania is dodgy imo
well, Scan have updated their page with the Asus DCII TOP being available at £359.60 (19:57 - 17th may) http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-asus-gtx670-direct-cuii-top-ddr5-pcie-30-dvi-hdmi-dp Considering it's the OC version of the DCII (£371.60), I'd imagine it'll ramp up in price shortly. Sadly, no ETA.
wait if i order it at this pre order price, that is the amount i will pay? it seems weirdly low if so omgggg wat do i kind of want 4gb but that price is too good to turn down
I would go for the EVGA superclocked version. The performance is so much better with overclocked but also hotter. Probably need to buy an aftermarket cooler to keep it cool during gaming.lol
DCUII TOP -great cooler -higher stock and boost clocks than sc -can be overclocked further than the sc because the cooler is better -doesn't have 4gb -very cheap on scan atm sc -has 4gb But the thing is, 2 or 3 fps is all well and good but in 3 years time, 4gb will be important not those 3 fps. am i right?
The price isn't that good, it's just that the standard one is vastly overpriced at scan. The standard model is £324 on ebuyer.
Yes. Last couple of times I've used the free delivery option I ordered in the evening and it arrived the next morning.
So what is the general consensus then? Is the ASUS GTX670 DIRECT CUII TOP @ £360 worth the £60 premium over say the cheapest 670 Ref Card, Palit, @ £300?
i think it is. you get a great cooler, and the oc is higher than any other pre overclocked 670 afaik moreover, you can actually crank even more juice out of it, it will oc even further. My concern still lies with the 2gb or 4gb. because unfortunately there isnt a 4gb direct CUII which means i will have to settle with an evga, which i dont think looks as good as the asus, and the cooler is crap compared to it, and it isn't as fast - even the superclocked version. more like mediocre clocked I can just sense than in 3yrs time, at my res games will be using way more than 2gb. and i will wish i had gone for the 4gb ideally i want 4gb AND a great cooler. but there is no such thing with the 670. I was originally looking at the 680 phantom 4gb but at £520 (ex vat) its so expensive
I'm looking at getting a new IPS monitor at 2560x1440 and I'm also somewhat concerned about whole 2GB vs 4GB mem but, as I see it, I'll prob upgrade again in around 2 years and with BF3 being more or less the only game pushing current cards I've come to the conclusion that a 2GB card will most likely suffice. The price difference too between the 2GB and 4GB is also pretty substantial which is dissuading me too.
Asus Direct CU II although I am "slightly" biased: Nommy Nommy card sandwich. I will have a big GTX670SLI vs 680 (vs HD7970 in certain games) review coming soon.
very nice indeed. yep i have decided to go with the 2gb asus, but i am waiting it out for the TOP version.
My Gigabyte GTX 670 is waiting for me in a depot North of Bristol on lock down at the moment. Tentative delivery for Monday! If I like what I see then SLI will be on the table for sure. If it wasn't for the water cooling options that the Gigabyte 670 PCB opens up (because it is basically a 680 PCB!) then I would go for the Asus GTX670 Direct CU II. Although I see prices have already shot up!
