RENEGADE, the "PUBLIC ENEMY", Chapter II

Hi modding mob, here are some new pictures to show you how i am getting on with this beast.
as mentioned, as soon as the basic inner structure is ready, then i can start doing what i like best, the out real design and pimping. will be armour plates and diverse other metal and acryl elements, and many many little gimmicks.

first of all here is alink to the first starwars door video test. worked till 04:30am because i also
wanted to see if it works, not all wired up yet, but this is just a manual test. will be via turn knob later on in two directions

i started the base keyboard drawer, which will be extracted via self made mechanism hidden in the base.






had to shorten the screws and nuts

i love recycling instead of puchasing, i always say,
WHY BUY IF YOU CAN MODIFY
thats what i did with these old lamp springs, they will be the pushout nudgers

 

Awesome looking project, love the doors, now if only it had a starwars-ish sound to!

 

first base armour plating, will be metalic with rust later on






seeing as the whole case will be studded with these screws, this is a screw which is actually the throw out push button for the keyboard. if you know about it, then you can extract the keyboard, otherwise its just another screw and just another armout plate.











so now its time to cover all the ugly drawer mechanics and of course cober the keyboard too, the cover is made of poly acryl


have made the cover so that i can slide it out for repairs etc..



one of the most important elements, the RENEGADE LOGO, will have flashing leds behind the cutout letters when finished, so you cant help but see it. this was really hard to cut out, especially the letter E`s

i picked a modern font which doesnt have any enclosed parts like the inside of a D or A, and traced, and cut it very slowly out. workind pretty good.







the logo is stationary and will stay put while the star wars door slides back when opened. still needs to be sanded yet.








started the cutouts for the front fan and subwoofer outlet.




i decided to change the top front part

didnt like the BEWARE top anymore, left is the latter part. you will se what i mean when it all comes together.



first switch box for the main knockout switches. they wont stay red though

as the RENEGADE progresses, i always have new ideas, have decided that i dont like the back anymore and it will be cut straight now. am making armour plates that will be mounted round the top primary weapon when it s mounted and will be lit up underneath as they are mouted with spacers for the leds width. a little like the BTT-Future Delorean









getting the angles richt with the same space underneath was tricky.



made a small cut too many, here is the repair, will be sanded and puttied up so that we cant see it later on.


for this case i have decided not to take digital temperature guages, i found these in a plumbers heating gadgets dept. they go upt 100 degress C and respond very quickly.
the RENEGADE needs thes just like the cb radio too because he is scared of being scanned and hacked into, he uses as much old is gold technology as possible which modern technicians dont know nuthin about. all part of the concept of RENEGADE in 2070AD.

drilled the holes and sank them too for the mini screws

now comes one of the first new materials which will later be the first of many touch up that will make this baby look great and mechanical and industrial.

 

yeah, that would be nice, lets see. have been looking for a cheap sound module that can be set off by a switch, if you know any, would be obliged for the info. anyway its a renegade in the year 2030 and i just clled the doors starwars doors, thats all. but what they will certainly have is a piezo 90db beeper and red alert light that they are opening or closing so that we give clearance. thats already planned.
and here are some more pictures of the first real fun stuff with other materials, i want this baby to look really technical and industrial and futristic. so here goes.



thfan will be inside, this is the cover and will have leds in the rear of it. paint and airbrush will give it the look i want.














this is wire piping which is usually conceled behind concrete walls, got a whole roll of 5 meters for 7 euros, cheap and great effect. these pipes have good karma, they will look great when panited and airbrushed.









i had them stright first but then decided to twist them, now they better, a bit like an enginey look

more of armour plates and vents etc, will start the monitor covers soon too
am not sure whether i will keep this little build on of a chevy like rocket, dpends on what it looks like after painting and airbrush. more to come..

anyway, here are some more pictures, i have 6.5 days to finish this baby for the

casemod contest, and am far from finished. too many elements still missing and too many
details still not integrated, not to mention the colours and airbrush etc..
so, here goes.
to match the armour plating look, here is the a part of the rear monitor safety guard which will have the same plated look when completed. apart from that alos the monitor backlighting cover which will have concealed led strips underneath when completed.







it will all be hanging on this rod mwhich is attached to the back pane and will open automatically when i unfold the monitor, guarding it from behind..








started the monitor decorations now, backlight frame etc.. all in that stealthy armour plate look











even though the hinges will be all in the same style look and paintjob, i dont want that one can see them too much, thats whey i am constructing these plates to part conceal them,,,,some open with the screen, some stay put.


here i have tried the first test for rust. i want some of the plates to be worn off, war torn and rusty, here are the examples of the rust experiments i tried out. my own special recipie and trials finally worked, looks damn rusty if you ask me, you can see the stages in the pictures.












didnt like the hinge front covers so i knocked the chucks off and rebuilt my new idea, monitor backlight frame for leds, not finished yet, but here are the first pictures









still have to make the bottom plate yet and something at the rear right of the monitor, too much space there


imagine the leds behind this frame lighting it up after paint ing it..

RENEGADE CHAPTER 4

hi modding mob, here are the results of the last couple of day, i have almost finished the monitor which now has a backlight from from which led lights will leak in towards the middle, will look goos, all in this futuristic armour plate style.




starting the bottom platte underneath, with a couple of tricky angles there.

just a test, dont know about this pice yet, have many ideas..





the front and right side front has openings for the front 120mm fan and subwoofer, have started the frames for them too

also bought some cheap parts for the top mounted gun, as soosn as i have started to build it you will se what i need them for. servos and led -n-laser pointer


i will change the led with a red one and use it as a "the gun is armed led"

it still works, eehaaaaaaa

now back to the subwoofer and fan covers...one of my mottos is, "DONT SEE WHAT IT IS, SEE WHAT IT COULD BE",,, here is another example, these are onion bulb baskets, got 3 of them for 3 euros, they will make great fan covers like the world war two gun mount scopes thinies on the double decker planes

RENEGADE Chapter 5

hi guys, here are the next batch of pics. had an idea for the front grills to match browning guns from WW1s old airplanes. have made sight pins too, and have also started othe small elements like the lase, the 3dskull logo etc.. let the pictures tell the story. more to come



still works after disection, wow
will ne using the joystick and servos to XY the camera gun.


here is something new, these are onion bulb baskets from a local hardware store, saw them and fell in love with the base. wehn airbrished and painted you will see them as front fan grills covers in WW2 browning gun sight look.

this is what the originla sights look like, mine should not be a replica but be similar, just hinting what they are.
the first ones i made right hand side were rotten and shitty, so i made the new ones with birchwood and golf ball stick things, whatever you call them. they look better and will be great when painted.



the sawn off screw heads are just as dummies, glued on.


its time to start the behind the monitor door RENEGADE 3D-Logo, this skull is from an old aquarium, will make a cigar for it too and it will be breaking through and backlighted to set it off when finished. will have to hack the wood and make it rough for this skull frame













the eybrows were not mean enough so i gave it some furniture wax surgery with sawdust to give it a meaner look, the sawdut with this molten wax stuff cannot be really be seen after wards, now it doesnt look astonished, it looks mean, eeehhhaaaa

is not airbrushed yet so you cant really see what i intend toi make it look like, but it already has that 3d skull is hovering look though

so it tims to start building the primary weapon, is made os drain-water-electric and copper-gas piping for the muzzles and barrels and will then be built into its casing. will have a camera and laser and torch and scope, and will be motorised via a joystick in XY



heat outlet holes for cooling






originally i was planning on inserting the kamera but then realised that it would make a great scope too, so will change the whole idea a bit and it will work


will be a twin barrel bitchy gun



here are the first mounting pods, imagine all the gun parts later on in black matt and scrathed and etched for that worn off look

RENEGADE chapter 6

hi guys, here are some more pics of the progress till yesterday, i will explain them all later when i am back from work. mod on guys, like i have said many times over, this one will start getting really inteesting when it has its paintjob.

 

WOW! is all i can say! looked trought the log and got slapped by a behemoth!

 

so massiv ! can't wait to see the paintjob, please don't sleep and paint me this !!!
