Yes that is a shadow :D

    Looks like a burn mark.

I am re-designing the whole circuit in order to get 100% brightness.
I can get it to 100% when doing SoftPWM, but for some reason HardwarePWM slams the power to 100% no matter what...
    more work to do...

Still the biggest project log though

I tried to get the most views with my shuttle SK41G, but I was beaten by Linear at the time... and now a few more :(

The trick is to post one update per week with only one new pic each time. ;)

Had considered that, but teasing the other members is just mean. Mind you, isn't that what the mods are for? :cooldude:

It's not about teasing, it is about not building it too fast.

Well I do post the very day I do the mod.

WARNING THE FOLLOWING IMAGE IS NOT FOR THE WEAK!!!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [IMG]

Due to the my extreamly limited space in my apartment,
the parts for the Media PC were getting stuck anywhere they could fit.

The resulted in a few accidents.

One which REALLY Freaked me out, is that both the DVD,
and CD-RW fell off my desk and onto the motherboard.
    A three foot drop.
(Hitting on the top of the AGP card, and CPU Heatsink)
    :eeek: :jawdrop: :waah:

The entire AGP slot was bent slightly, but not broken.
    :wallbash:

    But everything still works!
    The AGP Card still works,
the DVD still reads and plays movies,
and the CD-RW still reads and burns disks.
    :worried:

Soo I decided that I need to get a temporary ATX Case for all the parts.
A trip to my local used PC parts shop resulted in a better find:
A seperated removable motherboard tray, only $2.00!!!

So now everything can be kept together, and moved around without stacking everything.

I now also have a easy template for the backing I need to make for the PC. (Bonus :D)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as the current status, I am still working on perfecting the PWM circuit to allow 100% brightness.

Since no matter what I do there is a 200mV drop due to the transistor, I may have to try and run the LEDs off of 12volts, but control the PWM so that it runs at 5 volts.
With a regulation circuit that can protect the LEDs in case the voltage accidently gets driven to 12volts.

    The modding continues.....:dremel:

man, that was a close one!!
i hope you learned your lesson. you should keep that stuff on a safe place. perhaps you should dial 1-800-FortKnox and see if they could rent you some space.

Wow, that was a close one, you're really lucky nothing got hurt. If that was my stuff, I'd be keeping it under my pillow. (I say that, but if it was actually mine, I'd be all over the place and falling all the time:lol: )

 Frankly, it would be quite hard to sleep with all that stuff under your pillow, not to mention the risk of damaging it.
