Ok, It got detected when I connected it VIA USB in Gparted so I'm thinking that the sata data cable is borked. it only works when it want to work..
Do you have any spare SATA cables? I'm down the post office later to post some RAM out for Shirty so I can bung you a few in the post. EDIT: your in bloody Canada!
I did the same thing the other day myself, I figured that by the time postage had been covered, it would be cheaper to get one from Canada. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Yeah I didn't even expect that Edit comment so made me laugh.. And No I don't have any spare SATA cables. I agree.. I can get one here anyway.. they're cheap for Sata Cables
How can you have no SATA cables? I've got hundreds of the damn things. And usually when I need one not one of them has the right config of ends on.
At this point I'd probably be thinking that it was a compatibility issue between SSD and motherboard/SATA controller. I've got a bit lost and confused with what you've done and what the SSD works in. Can you sum up the situation of what works and what doesn't?
Possibly what you said.. but it was detected VIA USB so something must be up with the sata controller... Sata is enabled in BIOS so it must be an issue with the controller. I can't seem to update the BIOS without windows.. Hmm... One second, I'll try and find the sata drivers.. Why you no easy to read, Lenovo! Can't seem to find the sata controller drivers but if I recall, one of posts said try the chipset one but it's an exe file.. http://www.driverscape.com/manufacturers/lenovo/laptops-desktops/7387a34/32496 Will this work?
FINALLY!!! Thanks to TGS and his generous donation, my 2nd SSD got detected!!! Thank you everyone! Fook you Kingston, making it harder for me to use your SSD brand and all.. Thank you Sandisk!
