Hmmm Strange.. I'm using the 64 bit of Windows 7 installation disc but yet I checked the information on the Lenovo Website for the tower and it says Vista Basic 32.. is this chip only 32 bit? it says SATA enabled so it works fine in BIOS but it's not being detected by the installation disc..
You may need to connect it to a working system,( I think I had the same problem once ) and go into Control Panel/ Administrative Tools/ Computer management / Storage and find the drive there then right click and make a simple partition then it should be good,
http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-66153 appears to be a later BIOS version available, try that Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Also try the chip set driver, when installing vista choose custom install, then load driver in the bottom left (I think) then choose the chip set drivers from the location and pick the sata drivers, cross your fingers and see what happens. Good luck! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I'm using Windows 7 installation disk right now.. will report back in a moment to see if it's being detected.
Ok, Vista managed to detected the SSD for a moment then it disappeared but it says 0.0 and all from what I recall... I formatted the disk on Windows 8 as simple partition.
When it's in a working system, what does the list disk command show that I mentioned? Is it seen at all such as in device manager?
One moment. trying that now Noiz. Disk 2 is the SSD connected by USB. I selected disk 2 then clean but it won't let me clean it in Admin Command Prompt.
Now there's the problem, either from within windows, or with a floppy disc. Remember them? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I've had drive's that don't show up anywhere apart from in Admin tools and once I did the steps I outlined it then was detected fine
Oh dear god, Floppy Disks.. I remember those when I was in elementary school.. I don't have anything for those now... Well for some odd reason, it's not being detected when I put it in the tower when I popped in the installation disk..
I only have 1 data sata cable and that's the one that came with the tower... Do you think it's borked??
In my experience start somewhere, then progress logically. First point is always connection and interconnects. You can BIOS update from within Windows if you have the system running. Have you tried the chipset drivers during installation? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
