It totally is. Light reflection seems to have been polished up as well. I saw some footage of a research outpost glinting in sunlight, and I swear it just looked like footage of the International Space Station.

 

Nexxo have you actually bought this yet, or are you just watching videos?

I'm getting the 'back screen and hang' problem, so going to have to wait for a hotfix or new patch unfortunately. Oh well

 

Jumped to iBootis and the game died on me!

 

I'm an early backer, and have also got the game on preorder. May pull the trigger on Beta 2. But my old system (ATi Radeon 1650XT --yes, that old) is not up to smooth gameplay on a 30" monitor and the OS HDD is about to die, judging by the scary noises it makes when it warms up --usually accompanied by the PC hanging. Hence I am frantically trying to finish Ada before Navi dies. When I actually get the time to work on her...

 

Yeah, my mate says its very crashy. Expect patches imminently. After Beta 1 they did 4 patches in 4 days.

 

Same here... load screen... then menus.. then the spinning ship appears for a split second... then black screen hang.



No Beta 2 for me.

 

Yeah, it's crashy, possibly worse than the early premium beta which had a tendency to throw a wobbly when exiting supercruise. Took them a while to patch that bug out, mainly because they couldn't lock down the cause for quite a while.

Yeah did see that.. just didn't read your comment properly. What's wrong with these people... it's a beta.. they're gonna need to reset stuff. This is one reason why I'm not been grinding away to earn millions and why I haven't got a fully tooled up Lakon 9 etc.

 

Yeah, it's an AGP card! My HDDs are still IDE interface --no kidding.

 

Logged on, tried to undock, crashed and now it won't connect me due to my client software being out of date (it's not). Oh well at least they got a error log out of it.

 

Patch 2.02 released. Game server doesn't seem up though.

 

It *was* downloading the patch for me, then it stopped

On the upside, at least I don't have to worry about AGP gfx.....

 

Upgraded to 2.02, undocked and headed to my first waypoint and crashed.. for the few minutes I was playing the improvements were nothing short of excellent

 

I'm going to leave it a few days and let a few patches come out as they deal with minor things and then settle back into it. From the few minutes I managed to get into it, it looks like they've overhauled it plenty

 

With you there. I got as far as a jump, arriving at new system the server dropped out and bad stuff happened...

 

Managed to get a longer peak at Beta 2 before a crash and take in the scenery. There's greater variation in ship upgrades and you can even buy an overpowered beam laser at the cost of energy and heat for greater damage! Still trying to figure out the hyperspace 'wake' analysis mechanic.
