Not a huge fan of Paulaner. Its bouquet is sort of farty.

Can't say I noticed anything farty, unless you mean bananas, in which case I am envious.

Coffee wine. It works, it's mellowed out, it's good!

    Whiskey...

Reccomendations for someone who doesn't "like" whiskey but has only ever tried JD if that makes sense?
A beginner whiskey you may say.

Haa I'm not sure I can get away with that on tours of three distillerys for a stag doo in a few months.

Well I always find whiskey goes down a lot easier after a few pints. So I'd recommend getting mildly pissed before hitting the distilleries :D

    1) Find out which distilleries you're going to.

    2) Buy some of their warez.

    3) Practice.

    :D

Personally I got myself onto whisky from JD with Auchentoshan. Not too sharp, and most people I've offered it to, whether new to it or seasoned drinkers have enjoyed it. Worth a punt.

Just cracked open a Wychwood Golden Hobgoblin. For a big commercial beer it's a lovely pale ale and the cascade hops really shine through (surprisingly for such a commercial beer).

I rekon this is so light on malt, body and colour that served from the fridge, it could convert lager drinkers. :naughty:

    Yesterday:

    - at work: Mao Feng green tea
    - at home: a martini based on Hendricks gin and, well, Martini vermouth (extra dry of course), followed by a pleasant Bordeaux Superieure from Aldi.

    Today:

    - Sencha Shimizu Oki Yutaka green tea, followed by China Yunnan Black Gold. Tonight it's the rest of the Bordeaux Superieure and possibly a "Lindt Bomb": a dark Lindt chocolate ball with an espresso poured over it and a shot of coffee flavoured vodka. :)
