When in doubt DT Competition 2.0-1.8 butted.

They're basically the AK-47 of spokes.

DT were the best spokes when I was building my own wheels in the 80s & 90s.

Did a lovely 42 km time trial on this. Finished in around 1:03:30, which gave me an average pace of about 39.3, according to my Garmin 910XT.

As for now I'm sidelined with a fractured collarbone after a crash during a training session. No biking for me for the next 2-4 weeks :'(

    Navigation

Does anyone here have much experience with turn-by-turn bike navigation?

I'm looking for an on-bike nav solution, to guide me through country lanes, but I'm not keen on paying £200+ for a Garmin (I don't get out enough!!). I'd be more willing to spend to cash on a device that does a bit more (smart watch etc.)

    I'm considering:-
    • Smartphone + mount [concerns - security of device, battery life, possibly buy a burner phone]
    • Smartphone + headset for voice guidance only [budget option]
    • Android wear navigation [seems viable, but need feedback]
    • Dedicated computer [I'll consider a Garmin if it really is the best/only viable option]

Can anyone provide their 2p worth on these?

I use my motorola 360 for turn by turn nav when I am out and about.

Having moved to London I found it a lot more secure than pulling out my phone.

Ive got a garmin Edge 800 that gives turn by turn does the job well enough plus mounts an battery life are both good. 8+ hours without issue.

Went out today an headbutted a low hanging rather thick unsighted which was fun thrown back off the bike an head a headache since. Helmet seems fine though not cracked just scuffed a little.

    iPhone
Google Maps or Strava route planning
    Topeak Ridecase
Small battery pack + electrical tape

That's got me 80 miles in the past. The turn by turn options in cycling aren't very good I've found.

Chaps, Been gifted a chunky voucher for Planet X. Decided to go plastic fantastic an get a carbon frame. Been eyeing up the Pro Carbon, but question is which colour? I'm really stumped

Bear in mind I have a white set of rims

    So we have White

    Plain Carbon

Black, black on white is always classy.

All white looks like you've got stomach flu within ten turns of the crank.

Demotivating though, I haven't ridden a bike since the first weekend of May :(
Why oh why did I agree to working six day weeks...

White rims = green and white frame. Would look smart with some classy finishing kit.

However you would forever be tried into that colour. I'd love to not have any red on my bike now.

My problem exactly, The green is amazing an would work with black or white finishing kit Where a black or white frame work with just about anything, so confusing! :wallbash:
