    Let's just narrow it down and agree that sugarless espressos and double espressos is the best tea. For real men, women, and psychopaths.

    So it appears that our new (to us) car has a bit of a known fault and was somehow missed on the recall. It likes to jump out of 1st gear as you pull away, kinda scary if you're doing something like pulling out onto a roundabout or out of a junction. Got a drive over to Wales and back this weekend, before we can get it in for the work...

    It's a late 2014 Mini Cooper S 3 door and whilst all the work and stuff would of course be done under warranty, known fault and all that, it means that we have to have a loaner for a couple of days whilst the dealer replaces the gearbox... Not really a ruining thing as such, I just hope that we don't get a plain Cooper or (gods forbid) a One as the loan car (the Cooper S has the same sort of power as a Cooper and a One added together...)

    Pretty much the plan just trying to find a half decent role to go into. Agencies round here have hordes of warehouse roles but I'm waiting on Network Rail to re do their job offers, walking distance from home (you can see the roof of my house) far far better pay and benefits and less stress.
    Actually thought id replied to this but turns out I'd not, another joyus symptom of my stress is forgetting what I'm doing, usually mid way through things or just mentally turning off what I'm doing an doing something else.
    Only saving grace is my managers noticed so is only giving me one fault at a time an told me to have a do no disturb sign an wear headphones.

    Cat insurance renewal: £402.77, up from £274 last year. Ouch.

    Could drop it to £234 if I switched providers, but they wouldn't cover him for dysuria if that came back (pre-existing condition) and the cover goes from £7.5K maximum per condition with my current provider to £3K maximum.

    Combined with the special food he has for the dysuria, litter, filters for the water fountain, annual vaccination boosters, flea treatments, pet-sitting when I'm on holiday... He's probably costing me upwards of £150 a month, these days.

    I honestly read the top line as "car insurance renewal" and was thinking, "that ain't so bad, why is he complaining?".

    Then I was confused by all the medical stuff, assumed it was for an elderly relative possibly, but still didn't think it sounded so bad.

    Then the litter and flea thing made me REALLY confused.

    But yeah, paying more per year to insure your cat than I do to insure my car is bonkers.

    I don't find it bonkers. A cat is a family member. You pay health insurance for your human family members, why not your non-human family members?

    Typhoo isn't tea, it's what they sweep off the office floor in tea factories. 'tea infused dust' I believe is the technical term. Tetley's isn't great but use 2 tea bags and it's passable.

    For me it's Yorkshire tea, BREWED NOT SMUSHED ABOUT LIKE YOUR WRINGING A WHORES NECK, if you want it done quick add another bag and a decent glug of milk. Anywhere between grans house and he man is fine, but werther's would probably be my preference.

    As a citizen of the UK: No. No, I don't. (Well, technically, we all pay a portion of our taxes towards socialised health 'insurance,' but we don't call it that and it's way cheaper than if I were paying for private insurance.)

    Home and contents insurance. Pet insurance. Car insurance. Those are all the insurances I have. (Though I really should look into professional indemnity insurance one of these days...)
