Watching that is chilling to say the least.

Complete nooby when it comes to bikes but is it quicker to accelerate with the front wheel off the ground due to less rolling resistance as he has the front wheel off the ground through most of his accelerations.

Also I noticed there is no readout on his dash, is that deliberate?

 

According to Grand Theft Auto, leaning forward regardless of the speed you're going... makes you go faster.

They go very, very fast.

 

I understand the physics involved.

It still makes me laugh my face off.

 

Looks a little more promising than the last trailer.

When the front wheel hovers off the ground like that it's because the bike's anti-wheelie system and physics are having an argument.

With the throttle fully open a bike like that just flips over backwards, even in fourth gear. The AWS lowers the power output just enough to stop the rotation, but not enough to put the wheel back on the ground. Ideally the wheel would stay on the ground since you've got almost no steering when it's hovering like that, but to get it back down requires cutting the throttle so much it stops accelerating, so they try to balance it. Back when bikes didn't have anti-wheelie they kept the front wheel on the ground a lot more since a rider's reflexes aren't good enough to make it hover.

 

If the front wheel lifts over a small bump in the road and you find your body position too far back on the bike, causing a prolonged lift a quick (and I mean quick) tap on the rear brake will help set you back down, even with a steadily rolled on throttle, providing you continue pushing your body weight above your hips.

The BMW S1000RR anti-wheelie is apparently the best out there, far more balanced than any other, I have heard riders say they prefer doing it old school but it's 6 one, half a dozen the other.

 

Don't quote me but as well what cannon said there will also be weight shift with all the weight on the rear drive wheel. Giving better traction and power transfer.
