my sons ps4 pads usb port was b0rked, we watched a couple of youtube vids and then i watched him replace it i only had to help pry open the lower half of the pad case as it was a right bugger to open. aside from that a very easy job to do.

You need anti-reflective coatings/lenses at the very least IMO. I tried my current glasses without the anti-reflective stuff and took them straight back the next day because I couldn't wear them.

I've only recently started paying for the anti-reflective coating, and then only 'cos it's just £12 extra. I had just the hard coating for decades before that.

Definitely agree there, makes a huge difference to usability. I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and will not have them without an anti-reflective coating.

Few little upgrades for the field kit:

    Utebit Camera Clip
    - Chinese knock-off of the Peak things, lets you attach your camera securely to a rucksack strap with quick-release button. Less than a third the price of the real thing, even purchased from an Amazon reseller rather than direct from China, and feels pretty darn solidly made.

    Gonex [snigger] Compression Packing Cubes
    - if you can call 'em cubes when they're designed to flatten out. Not likely to get things as small as the manual vacuum bags I usually use, but they're a bit lighter.

    Rocketbook Everlast Reusable Notebook
. Figured I'd try this while I'm waiting for the Kickstarted legal pad version - but at £33(!) it's going to take a *lot* of reuse before I break even compared to the paper pads I normally use...

    2-Pack Nylon Belt
, the gimmick being that there's so little metal in 'em - basically just a couple of pins - you don't have to take 'em off when you're going through the metal detectors at the airport.

The first pair of glasses I paid for myself (which was only the pair before the last, since I had the last for so long), I decided that all of these coatings and upgrades were a con, and the guy at the optician came across as a used car salesman kind of guy. They were awful to wear and even with very occasional use due to primarily wearing contacts, they were mainly trashed after just a couple of years. Maybe that's another reason that I was inclined to tick all of the boxes on the last pair and ended up with glasses costing the earth.

Unless he believes you house fish?

Bargain time, RRP £69.99, sale price in Homebase, £45.00, thought that was a tidy saving so grabbed one (rather asked someone to open the cabinet an grab one for me as it was locked)
Got to the till, £27.00  bargain for me!

I see. Apparently shocking orange is the colour of choice for Aquarians. I didn't know that until about 15 years ago but it explained a lot.....

If astrology were in any way true, there'd only be 12 favourite colours in the world...

I'm doing something wrong. I'm pretty sure I have zero red things, and aside from a couple of camo tops, nothing in green either.

At least now I have something to blame when anything goes wrong.

    Since when?
At least that'll save me buying a newspaper every day to check how to run my life.

It's totally true, check it out.

This day and age, how could I not be disappointed in a prominent public figure every day? (that said, I can't say I can think of a single public figure I actually admire)

I wonder if that's a case for all water signs, I bought a bright orange Firetrap jacket back in the 90's that wouldn't have looked out of place in the back of motorway maintenance van!
