    So my Dyson V6 absolute has bit the dust and I'm considering getting a Shark to replace it. Either a IZ300 or IZ400. Anyone got one and care to share your experiences?

    Before you do, try reaching out to Dyson for a replacement battery.

    This was my problem, replaced it and it works again like a charm.

    For some reason I could not convince my friend of this when his battery had clearly run too low on life. Don't be like him!

    Yeh it's not the battery, that's been replaced already, probably only a year ago. It still sucks, but no longer powering attachments, not the hardfloor head, bristle head or turbo brush, with or without wand. Still gonna keep it around as a backup for crevices and dusting and can join the still going, near 20year old dc14 on plaster dust and other nasty stuff duties.

    Ive got the IZ320UK and its brilliant, i was genuinly amazed at how much **** it got out the carpet and its so light i can literally throw it around like its nothing. makes the stairs and car so much less of a choir

    yeah I was surprised at that as well, got it on sale which also stacked with my police discount for £260 which imo is more than fair. it is utterly brilliant tho

    I have a normal shark, plastic fantastic, it was cheap, looks cheap, feels cheap, but works really well, also nearly everything is replaceable, so easy to strip down to maintain and repair

    As an alternative, if you can find it on sale the ICZ300UKT is a bit more hardcore. If you have a bigger house it might be worth the upgrade. Ours replaced a corded Dyson Big Ball jobbie and it's almost night and day.

    Only disadvantage of these cordless models is the smaller dust tank, but it's a small price to pay for the convenience imho. Unless your carpet is gopping.

    It's main use will be downstairs which is all hard flooring, doesn't require that big a tank for it's weekly whizz round. Got the old Dyson that got a bit more grunt and capacity for the carpets upstairs if need be. Leaning towards the iz420 as it comes with 2 batteries, but even with discount it's still £320.
