I've mainly run out of sensible places to put speakers indoors, but simply not adding more speakers isn't an option, so more to go outside courtesy of B&W AM-1s

I'm a Windows user since 3.1, but for laptops I wouldn't touch anything other than a MacBook.

Unfortunately, for work I have a plastic-y Dell because our one software is a windows application and "everybody must use Windows". Well, I'll survive. It's not like I use the work laptop 10 hours a day or anything...

Similar-ish reason, but this is why I bought Parallels as it works a treat.

When you get into the ecosystem its hard to leave lol, this was totally overkill as i have the M1 Max maxed out version already, all the reviews said it wasn't much of a jump but it looks soooo good in the dark black lol.

@legoman What are you going to run in it and where did you get the Flexguru from?

That heatsink actually looks like it could be functional, which makes a change for these things.

Since it's pretty much closed at the top you'll need good airflow from front to back (or vice versa) in the case. But then this one should shine.

And it's pretty, to be honest.

I grabbed one a little while ago that is similar in fin construction, but has a small fan in there too. My initial thoughts were that it was just going to be a gimmick fan and would probably by high pitched and whiny, but it is actually pretty quiet and does move a little bit of air through the fins. Nothing much admittedly, but there is some. T be honest I probably get better cooling from the front case fan that blows through the hard drive racks and across the board, and the fitment to the SSD could be a little better, but hey, it's better than the nothing that I had there before.

Airflow? Yeah not sure theres a huge amount of that, still its on a PCIE Gen3 socket so it wont be super intensive.

I also don't think you need this cooler to avoid thermal throttling. My comment was more along the lines of "if this thing is to actually do anything, it'll need air moving through it front to back. Simple dissipation will be negligible".

I’m going to start building web applications again, and want to explore the world of self hosting and playing with port forwarding and all that other great stuff. I’m pretty damn certain I’ve just signed myself up for a self inflicted brain aneurysm but we shall see.

You might already be well aware, so apologies if I’m teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here, but…

If you’re on a home connection and want connectivity from the outside world, an nginx reverse proxy will save you a lot of headaches!

Oops, a minor miscalculation on my part, I'm missing 2x 4-pin PCI-e, probably time for a new PSU anyway as it's old now :hehe:

Booked a one way flight from from Poitiers to London Stansted. I'm driving to France with my step dad, but I have to fly home.
Don't think i'll be buying too much this month though.

    Lenovo G27Q-30 monitor

My other half's monitor was provided by her employer... who has just made her redundant. So they want it back. Ordinarily I wouldn't have bought a monitor from John Lewis, but we had £110 in JL vouchers - this was about the best bang for the buck I could find for £200-£300. Not gonna win any awards, but reviews seemed OK for the price.
