for the love of smeg, that's the fourth time it's restarted at more than 75%, with the settings as conservative as possible too. also the program only puts two icons in the system tray or none at all (and no i i take the entry from the startup folder nothing happens at all). the second instance can be closed but it's probably all part of the same problam. what's up ??

Add one P4 2.5 to the list, currently on 1/400 after about five minutes...

Count me in, guys. I was thinking about doing SETI@Home, but this seemed like a much more helpful cause. Unless it turns out that the first aliens we contact have cures for all the diseases F@H works towards, then we're just slowing the process.

i feel some what guilty because i joined the [H] team even though i read and post more here. i guess my guilt is going to make me switch to brit-tech. i have a 1.3 celly and a amd 550 that will folder 24/7. my amd 1600+ will fold for 4-5 hours a day. that will make a dent right?

Ill be joining Folding at home tomorrow (monday) i have been using a laptop at work to crunch seti but i think that helping humanity find a cure for things is alot better than trying to find ET.

    (approx 21 seti WU's :hehe: )

then again i might try the UT cancer one :blah: whats the difference between the two?

Depends it can take 10 hours or 2 weeks depending on the unit and the cpu and amount time the cpu is folding a day. The one I'm doing now has taken about 40 hours on a P4 2.4Ghz and will take about 8 hours to complete.

so it can be quite a long process, is there anyway to tell a more exact percentage of competion with the CLI version than just every 1%, only 1% could take an hour

Just put my machines on the team.

I read somewhere how to set up 2 clients on 1 dual CPU box, anyone point me in the right direction?
