56K. To far from the exchange for ADSL. :sigh:

Hoping to move soon though, and of course ADSL availability is going to be a priority. :D

I'm getting to Wireless Broadband this week (hopefully), our village has an astronomical BT trigger level, so we've had a community broadband scheme set up so we can get broadband where BT fears to tread.

BT is supplying a fat pipe and we'll connect using a Wi-Fi mesh much as described in Custom PC a couple of months ago.

I've got to set my smoothwall box to connect via a second Lan card this evening then we'll be up and running as soon as the ariel's up.

I am now on teh slooooow 56k, but surfin bit isn't bad. Using VNC is terrible though. Downloading new backup battery software took like 10 mins instead of like 30 secs :waah: I hate dialup. Satalite is too expensive for us though. I'll just have to convince my boss into getting internet out our way.

    Right now I am at
    908 kbps. down
    A 113.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
    887 kbps. up

It fluctuates throughout the day. It's a wireless connection. :)
It's supposed to be 1.5 mbit all day, but wind and other users can make it slow.
