    This is an infrastructure map of Janet. It only maps the main lines - universities in each region connect to their nearest local PoP - in my Case Essex, connects to Cambridge - the main hub for EastNET.

    Funny how so many people keep mentioning Janet and yet NO-ONE voted for it in the poll......

    As far as I recall,
    T1 = 1.5mbit
    T3 = 45mbit

    yeah im the one on 28k [​IMG]
    Its a 56k modem but it connects at 28k because of a crap phone line. Oh yeah and it hangs every 5 mins...:rolleyes:

    i have cable - but instead of having hte 64kbyte limit imposed - i get 600kbyte to 850kbyte downloads...

    100kbyte+ upload speeds

    Don't forget he's not in the UK... so the system is doubtless slightly different over that way :)

    1300kbps (162.5kb/s) downstream/100kbps (12.5kb/s). $40 a month ADSL. :| I have this really cheap ADSL USB modem though. If I had an ethernet ADSL modem, I bet I could tweak the connection more but bah, I don't really want to spend the money for the small extra bandwidth. ;P
