I like your project, and how it is turning out! are you going to set in 40mm fans in the holes, or are they just the fantastic design?
there will be 3 40 mm's up top, but a 120 down bottom (if i need it, probably will) thanks for all the reply's
judging by the current airflow pattern, you'd want to make that fan pulling off the rad, and blowing out the front of the case. Great work so far dude! However, you can cleanly see the bondo through the primer (darker spots)
yeah, the primer has a different shade on the bondo due to the surface change...hopefully it wont show up in the final coat... sorry this log has kinda of died, i ordered alot of parts from www.furturlec.com (great prices, great selection, horrible shipping times) so once i get that here, i can finally start back up... o and once i find a source of income, that can help too...
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, been kinda busy with moving to my new apt and finishing up school... so heres what i have been working on for the past 3 weeks... haha, no just about a day or so. with three fans in the front blowing onto my two hard drives, i noticed that the air would have no place to go besides down into the case... well i needed to change that, so i added a vent... i started out with the power supply that destroyed my comp in my sig and cut out its vent. then i cut out a hole in the top of the case, and epoxied/jb welded the new vent in place after that a couple of coats of bondo, and some sanding and then after i got it smooth for the most part, i primed it and here it is drying and i also got my parts in the mail to make the VU meter, futurlec.com, and got it up and running, but for now just a teaser pic again sorry for the lack of updates recently, they should be coming more steadily now.
it killed.... CD Burner boot sector of HD 1 (60 gig, main drive) killed HD 2 (20 gig, aka backup drive ) Radeon 9600 PRO Soyo Dragon lite mobo 512 pc2700 ram 1 Fan The psu and thats about it the only things that were salvageable were the processor, dvd rom, and the 60 gig.
Cheap A$$ power supplies pi$$ me off something fierce! Awesome tricks you've pulled off! Good and original! Loving how this is coming together! Is that a bottle of RoundUp that you are using as a top weight in the "vent/JB Weld" picture? Keep on trucking bro! Can't wait to see it painted up!
Alrighty... decent sized update here... first off was the power button, i didnt want to use the "stock" one that came with the case as it was huge and ugly. So what i did was fill the stock hole with bondo, make a cone out of paper, and shove the cone into the bondo when it was still wet... then glazed it with glazing putty, drilled a hole for the button and slapped it in there... you can also see that i went back and added some putty where there were some minor imperfections. while doin that, i decided to screw it all, and redo the holes in the front for the third time... as they were weak and kept craking the bondo/paint... this time they arent going to move at all... following the same steps as before, epoxy, bondo, glazing putty, i redid them. after that i got both the button and the bottom nice and sanded and now it was time for another primering. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a few days later (im slackin on the updates i know) i got some red metallic paint and started the chasis... and a few extras
what is that black thing in the last pic? lookin quite nice btw sorry to hear about your parts gettin fried Vazz
i think its the radiator nice ideas you got and i wanna see the result in the meantime i wanna see updated keep up the great work
