Rust! I'm going to rust my machine too. But I'm not shure that I'm going to rust my psu or any other hardware, because I haven't that much money, and if I want to do another mod, it would be difficult to paint over the rust, maybe sanding the components down would be the answer?
you can sand the rust off if you don't like it. and paint it over in the color you want. I think i'm going to sand down the inside of the case, because i'm not very satisfied with the result, i added first the gray rust paint, and after that the black paint and at last the oxidation fluid. it gives rust. but also a paint witch is full of small dust from the underlaying grey color on the places where there is no rust. I want it on the way piloux did on his new HL2 case: i think he applied the grey rust paint after the normal paint. So i'm going to try that too.
Ziet er prima uit Tweaker!!! Dit is een leuker forum voor project logs toch. GoT is een beetje te druk en te veel onzin posts. Maar ziet er prima uit man. Klasse!!
(for the non-dutch people: just some offtopic chat about an dutch forum )
update The past few days the weather was good, so i did a lot of small updates into the sun. This is the 120mm fan at the left side. And this is the 80mm at the right side. Wahhhh fire i was yust plaing with a fogger machine. Made a hole in the bottom of the WC-case to mount the fan controller. witch controlls 3x 120mm fan's (hope the lm317 will stay cool enough, i used a heatsink about 3x3x2 cm) I've found some copper tube, tink it's used for oil transport, now it's on my case, looks a bit like some capilair tube of an chiller The power connector and switch for the CCFL witch lights up when the ccfl is powered. there will also be an XLR connector for the 12v= supply. Made 2 plexi corners for making small corners with the tube. the last fan, mounted in the top of the case. 2 pics of the inside. Made a nice power cable with an normal power cable and some metal mesh from an shielded cable. the power cable on the pc himself and the 12 volt between the 2 cases will be similair. But i had to paint them a bit old/rusty. that's it. maybe a good idea for the weather-gods in holland: keep the weather good, the faster the updates will follow
tnks my inspiration Only if you gimme some money for a new one i want to try don't want to kill my own mobo right now, because the case/PC _must_ be finished at the end of this month. (for an lan party and after that he will be shown in the shop witch sponsored me) Tnks And that without seeing the complete garden(s)
man thats uber sweet, now i wish i had Digital camera and money to start my mod oh well all in good time (soon very soon) MOD ON!!!!
ga je naar campzone? (translation) are you going to campzone? (campzone= a lan-party with tents and caravans instead of inside a building)
I really like the design of your case. Great skills man I like the window on top of your case and the paintjob on the fans. Great work. Keep it going
Je wilt Kamikazefreak helemaal niet zien hoor die kwijlt allus onder Anyway's great modding, although if u where you i'd spray a coat of clear lacquer over the real rust, so it doesn’t give off to everything aka dirty hands and such. I’ll be seeing you @ campzone, if you cant find me just come over to the casemodding stand and ask for me.
tnks About giving a blank coat, i tried it when starting this mod, but it's to shiny/fake And i'm not having problems with rusty hands or things like that Yust mounted the GPU, mobo and cdrom, I'm soooooo happy my GPU isn't 5mm more in depth, otherwise there won't even fit 1 optical drive into it. All because that stupid reference mobo i used for the dimensions But well, somethimes you need to give up some practical things up for the looks And yesterday i had already a dream about a following casemod
i've seen a whole motherboard painted - maybe you could do this with a clear/plain cost, then apply an effect to that. would be pretty original...
make me one ok? Awesome work.. but one thing, why not rust up the wires? They are covered in plastic.. so it wont hurt them any.
