Carlos Mencia. Great guy. I think political correctness and affirmative action are what fuxor our country sometimes. I should be able to joke about any country I want and the people in it. If people cry about it then they need to loosen up and come back with something. Im not saying be hateful just learn to joke. Seems on the forum that people are getting more and more uptight sometimes. Lifes too long have fun while you wait.
Some of my better friends are in Canada, I figure any place with such bright geeks has got to be a decent place
I like to make fun of canadian drivers, "YOU SUCK, GET THAT PIECE OF CRAP BACK ACROSS THE BORDER, JERK!!" But I dont hate them.
you are from austin and you prefer canadian beer?? dos XX, corona, tecate, modelo negro. vs what?!!?!?! LABATT BLUE?.....i guess i like that bear in the commercials..
molson gold. mind you that's just for drinking on it's own. i like dos xx and modelo negro with mexican food.
How could anyone hate a country that gave us Three Dead Trolls In a Baggie? I honestly wasn't aware that this was an issue. Anyone that gets their world view from a South Park episode needs to get out more.
... Or Bob & Doug McKenzie you hoser ... Or Kids in the Hall (I squash your head!) I don't know anyone who hates Canada, hell TBH I don't know anyone who hates any other country - people yes, a whole country no. Although you Britons are starting to piss me off
well... you can just... shut you funking face, uncle funker! (its a song from Bigger, Longer, and Uncut)
Blame Canada, Blame Canada... Anyhow, yes, lots of Americans hate Canada. Then again, a lot of Americans hate every country on earth except our own (I had a SCARY conversation with some of my friends the other day). Most Americans are moronic, close minded, xenophobes, because the constitution apperantly gave them the right to be stupid (I can't find the section). But the right to free speach is just their excuse for disliking anything but the satus quo. They don't like anything that isn't american. Morons. I myself like Canada. It's like a huge South Dakota. They know that people should have to have some decency and brains to live. Socialistic healthcare owns.
Oh, and I resent that. Use Arkansas. They're used to it. Actually South Dakota gets off easy; we're not made fun of because many Americans don't know we exist. Seriously. I went on vatation to Florida, and people would say "where you from" and we would say South Dakota. They didn't have the fogiest clue where it was. But they knew where North Dakota is. A strange lot us Americans are.
Try telling people you're from New Mexico! I had some very nice, extremely stupid lady from Missouri tell me that I spoke excellent English. So I told her the only sentence in Spanish that I managed to retain from my five years of Spanish classes and she just about fell over at the sheer joy of interacting with a real-life foreigner right here at home! "Lo siento, pero no comprendo, por que soy Gringo. Donde esta la bana?"
Or SCTV. I worked with quite a few Canadians while I was in the military. About half of them were great people and (IMO) the other half were complete jerks. Oddly enough, all of the French Canadians were in the jerk category. I have met other (non-military) French Canadians that weren't jerks, so I guess it had something to do with being in the service or just being forced to speak english. Of course, the ratio of jerks to non-jerks is about the same for everyone I have ever met in any country I've visited, including the U.S. (oh yea, I do live there, but I've spent over three fourths of my life in other countries around the Pacific, including the Peoples Republic of California).
LoL, you should try living in West Virginia. Most people don't know that we're a state and the ones that do only know because of something on national news. They always tend to go up the deepest hollow and find the old man/woman with one tooth, thick accent, and barely speaking english to put on the national news.
Pff. Try New York. Yes, everyone knows where NY is, but when I say I'm from NY, everyone assumes NY City. There's a TON more the NY then than damn POS city.. When I correct them, they say "Oh, Upstate". :\ No, NOT upstate. I live in Central NY. Gets frustrating after a while.
sure, you go into the history of it all, and ill give the now sort oflike nottingham forest, there **** now, but everybody just lives in thepast! perhaps i was mislead with australia, but ireland is laughing stock those crazy irish drunkards edit: oh, holy thread reviva... batman
Socialistic healthcare owns. ??? LOL..funniest thing I've heard all day. When I went to Toronto we crossed the border from New York they asked if we had any firearms...if I said I had an MP5 and a Bushmaster what would of happened? And a French guy was scalping tickets to a hockey game...$100 canadian per person for nose bleed seats. My uncles Army buddy from the UK seemed like one of us southerners...so I can only say that I don't like the French
Ubermich: well did you heard me whinning about the sitation in your sig? I said that I was attracted by it and it made me search for the origin of it if it was on the board since I live in Quebec that's all! I can understand that in a certain context it can be funny, hell we have a comedian here that comes from Africa and he comes in Quebec litterally laughing about us for about everything we do, saying that the problem with Quebec is that there's too much Quebecers in it and it's one damn funny show! lol Why should I care about what you put in your sig really! As absurd as it is, it's still a racist comment but it's not like I'm offended by it... and if I was... I would have whinned to someone to try to get you remove that part, which I haven't done I think you misinterpreted the meaning of what I wrote. Like you said, nobody's perfect and I don't have the pretention to say that I am even tho I don't play with racial/linguistic offenses and such. But I also said that you was about the only one right with your quote about our canadian linguistic problems. Please don't get me wrong on this, I wasn't whinning about your sig a single second. as for the topic... well... I actually don't have anything more to add from my last comment except that even if people are saying:"Canadians are this, french are that" every time I've been in Ontario and NY, I never got any insults thrown at me because of my french accent or because I'm from Quebec. ^^
