Hahahahaha...even a servo to control it!!!! Now THAT's a hardcore mod... I am truly impressed. Keep up the great work!
I Think I got the nibbler from directron.com or www.xoxide.com, it was a while ago so I don't remember exactly.
http://www.xoxide.com/nibbler.html only 10 bucks, you can't go wrong! that r2 looks great man! Is he going to make noise also?
yeah I bought an r2 aotc sentry figure on ebay which makes noise and it should be fairly easy to hook it up to some speakers- maybe a circuit or a pic to make it got randomly, circuit probably.
Now here's a theme mod I'm looking forward to I can almost hear the faint "cantina" music in the background, all five thumbs up
Time for a good sized pict update of some stuff that I did a few weeks ago, but am just getting around to putting up the pics. Anywho... Initially I took the case completely apart and put it back together, and I cut this square out over the psu, based on a idea that I have decided not to go with, so now I have a hole that I will have to work around. I masked off the right side panel of the case (no I decided against bondoing just from generally not wanting to do it ) Using this red paint that happened to be lying around, I threw on a couple coats and the resuts were shiny Coat 1: Coat 2- pretty shiny for only two coats R2 reflection Too shiny though! So I took about 800 grit and got rid of the shinyness in favor of a flatter looking red. Previous to this I had experimented a few ways to get a carbon scoring (you boys have seen a lot of action!) battle damage effect. Turns out lighting a mechanical pencil (any plastic like that I suppose) throws off a lot of soot and smoke. These were clear coated with the crystal clear glossy kind so they don't look too good, but it was only a test! Here's some finished shots of the side, after it has been damaged, then a coat of matte clear coat has been applied. Here's how it stands atm, work has already commenced on the left side panel, I will update soon hopefully. Oh yeah, remember the first pic? Well I guess I put the top on backwards when I cut that hole so there is a square hole in the front now...but this might be beneficial. Hint: Well, off to watch Episode 3 trailer a hundred more times...
that is amazing! i cant wait to see this done! and im not even that big of a star wars guy. MOD ON!!!
Thanks y'all, it's always good to hear compliments! Keeps me going. Anyways, small update, I have drawn out and cut out the main window (almost). First off, to cover that hole on the front of the top piece, I am gonna mount a 5.6" lcd that I had from EmpirePC. This is just a mock up in cardboard, I will probably change the shape and make it out of aluminum. My question is this, do you think it looks ok there or does it block R2 too much? Back to the Window. Here it is all drawn out. I was kind of going for a cockpit type shape. Up close of the Rogue 5 that will be cut out. This should be fun Jigged the main window. That is all for now, I will finish the R5 cutout at somepoint this week and post some pics when I take em.
Excellent work on the paint and blaster scars. I can't really tell from the picture how much that lcd mock-up was blocking the R2 unit, but it looked pretty good. Nice work. M.....O..
