hey, MY friend called me now and told me that he want build a 1400$ Computer. And I build it for him, so I was thinking he want to game some games like CS and BF :worried:

This came from heaven to me... this is a deal to sell my VGA and Motherboard..

IF I said that I will sell him the GFX and Motherboard for 750$ or 800$ this mean still 600$ or 650$ dollar to buy the rest of the items..

what do you think that I can get with that price ?

    thanks

Why do you need to sell your graphics card and motherboard? If you're talking about the stuff listed in your signature, there's no reason to sell because there's nothing faster to buy.

Also, I think that's a bit too much money for what you've got - That card and motherboard are worth $650 brand new right now, so you shouldn't expect more than $450 for them at the very most.

However, if you do manage to trick your "friend" into buying that stuff at that price, the remaining $600 will easily buy you a 500GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, a DVD burner, a nice case, and an E6600.

Do you have a retail version of Windows though? I don't think OEM will work for you on a new mobo.

Why is the memory so expensive? You do realize that memory prices have gone down significantly, do you?

If you're going to scam your friend, I'm afraid you're not going to enlist the help of most people here.

lol , brother I will not scam him... I'm selling him my stuff with the price I bought and he know that and he very happy and take in mind that the 800mhz rams not command here so it still expensive and hard to get that 4GB with 300$ I was going to get it from USA by my friend that's why I will get them cheap... he just want a fast computer don't care about the things .. I told him and he understand that this the cost and this what he will get and he ready to pay! this mean I scam him... Come on I just sell my stuff with the same price I bought.. That's it . also keep in mind my friend don't have a problem in money he can pay much much more than this.... and you say I'm scamer... lol I'm not

tell me if this wrong or I didn't understand you !

BTW: 90% of this forums members Don't help me or Give a crap of what I'm doing that's why I try to get help from those other 10% and I'm happy with them :)
    thanks

Technically, no, it's not a scam. Pragmatically, it is. It doesn't matter how much you paid for it, you have to factor in the component's age and usage. Be reasonable. If the memory was enjoyable to you and performed well, that's more reason for you to subtract your usage of it from the offer price.

I'm sure you're familiar with automobile value degredation. I don't think our '93 Lexus LS400 is going to sell at $65,000 today after 250,000km.

Use common sense. I'm sure he wouldn't sell you his house for 100% of the original offer after 6 years. Likewise, I don't think you'd buy my Athlon 64 4000+ for $505.99

yeah you are right, but I can't just lose the money After I use them 4 months and they are brand new no problems with them , Just Because I rushed when I bought them so I face alot of problems now to sell them and never rush again

brother he don't have a problem and I don't think the things is old them like brand new 4 months use and the price in the stores are nearly the same some higher some lower, but this how it goes

If I was selling my hardware after 1 year yeah I will drop 50% or more . but I bought this hardware with my own money and I can't lose more money, I have to work and save more money not lose..

thanks and I'm sorry if this make you mad but this is how its goes in the life

Maybe this is your problem with lots of things. I like the spirit in you, you are a well full of ideas, but you should think twice before making descisions.

A old modders line: "Measure twice, cut once". Sorry to say so, but I now have the feeling you have 2 main live threads. 1 about you wanting to scam your friend (by selling the stuff you misbought [1kw PSU for instance] or want to get rid of at prices as new), and the other one where you ask for advice about what to buy, when you don't need to buy anything (except a GFX card MAYBE), but don't like what you hear and therefor just keep adding in stuff.

Sorry CK, you allways got my support but don't push it, don't be so impulsive. Think things over, put them into perspective, search around for yourself (google + forum),... before you change your mind 10 times in 1 thread. I realise a lot of the members aren't supportive towards you, but you are kind of working towards that. I realise it's hard getting into PC hardware, and even harder staying up to date, but all of us have investigated ourselves, spent hours on end reading and learning, understanding basics... Maybe you should do too, take a deep breath and relax... Don't rush into things... In most threads it's better to wait untill there are 5 or 6 responses before rusing in with fresh ideas.

PS: sorry if that sounded harsh, wasn't meanth that way

Off-topic: "Calculate three times, measure twice, cut once" - doesn't matter how good your measurements are if you're measuring the wrong length :thumb:.

On-topic: CK, if you need money so badly, why don't you sell your parts at a more reasonable amount, but charge your friend for the labor you will do. That seems more ethical to me.

My prefered solution: Cut twice, don't measure.
