Not convinced that something from Guitar Hero is a 'killer move'. Probably my age though.

A personal favourite, while not particularly difficult, is taking a zombie's head off with a shotgun in Resident Evil.

I still think Agent 47's strangling should be in there. And Mario's head-jump. And Prince of Persia's time-rewind...but I'm just being grumpy :)

For once, Joe, I agree with you :) PoP's "try again" is far, far better a move than star power.

I'd also like to add the now legendary, original, totally game breaking insta-kill move: the Telefrag.

Impossible to pull off, rarely ever seen, but being completely obliterated by a totally clueless opponent, who suddenly finds themselves standing there surrounded by your entrails thinking "eh?", invokes a sense of pure disbelief unfound in any other game move.

True some people could time it properly and actually deliberately do a telefrag, but more often than not dying to one wasn't down to skill, or tactics or strategy, just pure bad luck. I challenge anyone to suggest a move that invokes more of a "oh COME ON!" moment than the Telefrag.

But worst of all? Having it happen to you in CO-OP. ARGGHH!!

Telefrags are awesome - and among the best moves ever.

Also; insta-killing everyone in a pool of water with the lightning gun in Quake.

Headshots just make me happy. From playing too much UT and CS I actually try to aim in EVERY shooter. Pretty pointless in many of them but I can't help it.

    Deftones have a song titled 'U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, A, B, Select, Start'. Many fans pointed out the obvious mistake.

That's why Quake III was so cool - no complicated aim-for the-head, just fast paced pew pew another one down. :)

There's a great bit in Christopher Brookmyre's 'A big boy did it and ran away' where a guy kills a load of terrorists using that exact method that he learned from Quake - legendary stuff.

The FarSight XR-20 from Perfect Dark is the ultimate weapon and the ultimate kill. Nothing is as satisfying as killing your mate while you are in the other end of the arena, though it still required some skills

    Also "KILLING SPREE"

Wasn't max pain doing bullet time before matrix? I thought max pain was out first.

Telefragging is fun. Don't know how many times Ive found a "good" sniper position only to have it happen. Another favourite of mine is sucide bombing. Remember using that tactic in golden Eye and even timespitters. Best way to take out a group or bunkered in enemies. Think in Timespitters you could shoot the mine making it explode which in small levels charging around could net a few good kills.
