Would be up for it again, depending on when it is and how many people are off :)

I remember a discussion about using the term 'bit-tech' meet in another thread. Think you can only use it if its an 'official' meeting. I would love to come but Newcastle us a little far to travel.

We would need a more centralised area, ie Midlands based.

    Regards

If no one bothers to turn up for one in the midlands anyway you think people are really gonna pay £50 and spend 3 hours on the train to go all the way up there....

I'm not just saying this cause I'm down in Notts but... it's a bit of a trek for most folk on here..

Could argue the same for a London meet, or a Midlands meet, or a meet in Scotland. Where ever it is, some people will live there/locally and some will have to travel 1/2 way across the UK.
It's a good 3 1/2 - 4 hours (maybe more) from Newcastle to Brum on the train.

My Dad works for them and he says you can't ;).

I might be up for it. Newcastle's very far for me though and would much prefer something more Midlands based. Will also have to check train costs etc...I'm not paying more than £20 for tickets and I fear it would be way over that from Bournemouth.

Just done a check and a single there and a single back is £28.50 each way at the cheaperst (£57 round trip) but that's from Havant.
A return is apparently around £113!

Though the National Rail booking site is generally horrible and frequently doesn't give you all the possible options for prices.

Right, Ive thrown the floor open to a location "inside the United Kingdom". I was considering adding in the Commonwealth but i dont thing we can all get cheap flights to anyware interesting.
To reflect this the title has been changed and the name changed to Bi-T JUST to make sure i dont step on anyones toes. Any objections and ill change the name again

So first things first....where about do we want the "event" to happen?
