hey i just had a question, (not sure if it belongs here) i have a geforce fx 5500, and i wanted to get dual display, but i only have vga monitors, am i able to use my onboard vid card to show the other screen, or do i have to buy a dvi-vga connector (i think its dvi, well the white one) yeah any help apreiciated thx
You'd be alot better buying a DVI<>VGA converter. Using onboard video as well as your graphics card might be possible, but I doubt it would be easy or simple. Just spend the £3 required to get a converter
I was gonna buy a video card for my PC for a 4th and 5th monitor, it was a DVI and VGA port, it didnt come with a convertor, thats why I didnt buy it...and becuase my buddy gave me a card.
narh my didnt come with one, i saw one on a site for 20$au, and i was like wtf thats heaps (im an aussie) ill look around and see if i can find any good ones CHEAP
well does anyone want to send me one lol, i live in australia qld ill bank deposit postage or something
Seriously, you don't need a "good" one, any one will do, its just a piece of plastic with some pins on either side, nowt more. It really should be possible to get them for less then 10 AUS.
found 15$AU at the disc shop, thats the cheapest so far (except one of ebay but i cant buy off there) EDIT: found one for 14.30, but its like 10$ postage lol EDIT2: found another one for 5.50$ gotta check postage and if it ships up north
hahaha the one for $5.50 is $4.95 postage so that works out to be $10.45! yay order now just have to bank deposit.
Pains me to see you spending even that much, I'd send you a spare one if it wouldn't take ages and cost loads
