Here's my latest score after a fresh install of Win98SE which is supposed to be the fastest platform for benchmarks: Systems specs are as follows: AMD AYHJA 1.4 @ 1.6GHz [10 x 160, 1.90 volts]. POWERCOOLER PCH137 WITH 70mm TURBOFAN. ARTIC SILVER II THERMAL COMPOUND. NON-CONDUCTIVE COOL SHIM. EPOX EP-8K7A+ MOBO. 256Mb CRUCIAL DDR [2 x 128Mb] THERMALTAKE RAMSINKS. GAINWARD POWERPACK GF3 @ 210/512 [Won't go higher] LIAN LI PC2 ALU CASE D-LINK 10/100 DFE-530TX NETWORK ADAPTER. YADA, YADA .......... For an air-cooled system I'm pleased with this score but I'm after an ASUS V8200 as they seem to clock much higher so that should push the score up to 7k or more - so I'm selling the Gainward! Anyone got a similar setup using the ASUS V8200 Deluxe lemme knoe what your benches are and if it's worth changing over.
Yeah - the ASUS and an Athlon CPU running at over 1800MHz, which must be vapochilled to reach that! I'm only at 1600MHz right now, air-cooled.
heh .... benchmarking is pointless in my opinion ... if you can play the games you want at a decent frame rate while it looks good it doesn't matter what score you get...
You're just saying that 'cause your score sux Only pulling yer Limp Bizkit - don't go in a huff dood!
Improved score with new Detonator 4 drivers: Slight improvement there I think NVIDIA have done an awesome job with these new drivers, I saw the frame-rate on the infamous "Nature" scene hit over 40fps, previously they sat at around 21fps - that's double the performance from the same hardware.
Nice score You should be proud, I would be. Remind the old man what this looks like? Doesn't ring a bell. POWERCOOLER PCH137 WITH 70mm TURBOFAN. Piccy Please
The review is now up of the Powercooler PCH137, you'll find it here: http://www.pcpowerzone.co.uk/reviews43_1.html You asked - I delivered
BTW the dt4 give better results in XP (so i am told) and the 21's are better for win2k but u use win98? lemme know with XP when u get it
Yeah, I'm gonna run it on Win2k and see what happens. XP should be coming my way soon hopefully. 8008 ain't bad for clunky old Win98SE eh!
8008 aint bad at all! but just remmeber if u are doing this for competeing rather than playing games then everyone else's score goes up at the same rate whhich means you are really at the same level unless you play games!!! then your a winner!!!!! congrats to nvidia to sortin thier drivers out (bet they had em ages ago)
Isn't playing games competing too? The fact that I've switched graphics cards means that my scores should be higher than before, not just because of the Det 4's. So you're incorrect saying that I've just stayed at the same level, I have in fact gone up a level at least due to the much higher overclock of the ASUS V8200 GF3 - so there
you never said you *had* a Asus!!! damm joooo!!! well gaming is competing but its also recreation and enjoyment... i wanna be able to play at 1600*1200 so improved drivers will help me do this which is performance (why I brought the card) not compotition! i know you you..... your a speed freak!!!!!! hehehe you wanna have the fastest baddest and menaest init? ...don't deny it mr PC*Power*zone man you! PS when i say i brought the card - I aint got a gf3 i was speakin hypothetically!
