Vodafone Galaxy SII Users can rejoice as ICS was released today. Currently just waiting for it to finish installing all my apps again and running all updates required. Snappy so far Setup faceunlock which is kinda cool to be honest. Lets see how Ice Cream Sandwich fares!!
You say that now. I had it on my nexus when i first got it.. removed it after 2 weeks of getting annoyed with it Anyone with an HTC XE or im guessing XL ICS has been released for orange deffinately and i think unbranded ones too.
So enjoying ICS, apps are that much quicker also loading from wifi is faster too. Bit Tech Android App can load slow even via wifi.
Faceunlock is a neat concept though doesnt work in low light for obvious reasons. Having a secondary unlock option is a great idea. You get some trial junk with the Vodafone update which I uninstalled straight away. So far so good.
Nothing available on the HTC Desire HD (Orange) Not too fussed in reality, plan to go and do an early upgrade tomorrow or Tuesday, One X looks mighty tasty, and is ICS out of the box. I did get the HTC Sence 3.6 update, and that's really really been impressive, my phone was slow and sluggish, but now, i think it's quicker than mums Galaxy S2, But then, Sense UI over Touchwizz anyday. Sam
Received a tweet from HTC yesterday, saying they still don't have a release date for the Desire S, but they're working on it. I want it now
My swype text works a lot better with ICS4.0 0n my HTC Sensation. Anyone tried out Poweramp, not bad if you listen to a lot of music on the phone.
I've got the HTC One X and ICS makes it fantastic to use, as well as HTC Sense 4. Regarding PowerAmp, it's a fantastic app, but it does have an annoying micro pause each and every time a song starts, but other than that, It's much better than the built in. Sam
I've got a Carphone Warehouse branded unlocked Samsung GSII running on T-mobile. The update to 4.0.3 was 2 days ago so i updated as soon as I could. How are you finding the battery life? Has it sorted itself out now that you've been running it for a few days longer than me? Yesterday I was finding that the Android OS process is keeping the phone 'awake' a lot, draining battery while the screen is off. Do you use Exchange for your emails? That seems to have been contributing to the battery drain a lot too. Also, I charged it whilst switched off last night. When I turned it on, the battery was at 98%?! That never used to be the case on 2.3.4.
Can anyone tell me how to update my s2 to ics? Ive got a software bug and it wont connect to anything via usb, just to make matters complicated.
Ok - Turns out the only way to do an update over the air is via Samsung FOTA. Im installing 'an update' now, but i have no idea what it is?! il be posting back here in a few mins...
Currently downloading via this: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/FOTA/JSP Hopefully this will get ICS?!
