hello guys I have G2020 @ 2.9Ghz MSI mobo Corsair 400w Psu 8gb Corsair DDR3 I'm using it all on my dell u2711 however Im using the onboard graphics and it only outputs in 2048x1152 via VGA cable. I would like to move to the full resolution of 2560x1440. so need a gpu but cant choose one with the right powerdraw and speed for 2560 any help appreciated
Budget your on native screen Rez gaming is out of the question unless its very old. You would probably best going second hand and seeing if you can get a cheap 570 for your budget it at least has some grunt. 640 is not really a gaming card it may even be slower than both intel and AMDs onboard gpus these days.
This looks like a steal for the price... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gainward-...raphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item338204e45a
is the psu not an issue with a 570 ? the only reason i havent got a bigger budget is due to thinking a bigger card would need more power then my 400w can give
You need dual link dvi to output that res as far as I know, my GTX570 could only do that res via VGA.
Can be close to the margin. Having said that I can run a GTX 480 with my mighty 400W Enermax PSU but this is a quality brand capable of pushing more Watts than it's specification details!
Im currently using Vga and want to move to Dual link DVI to push the monitor to 2560x1440 but dont want to change my psu. its a corsair builder series 400w
- 650Ti should be the entry point for a gaming graphic card. (or similar graphic card with similar performance) - 650 non-Ti is good if you just want a solid dual monitor, high-resolution, smooth experience, with some performance for engineering software and graphic designer who uses software that uses the GPU for processing, and of course your project isn't big, and it's understood that you are on a budget. - 640-630, you can game, but expect playing games at medium to medium-low settings depending on the game, or games with low graphical demand. Like you play indie games and such. - 610-620, your integrated graphic solution is lower than the an Intel integrated graphics HD4000, or have no graphic card, you are not looking to play games, but rather either have something if you have nothing, or dual monitor support both on digital, if your Intel integrated graphics doesn't have dual digital plug, or can't work together. It must be noted that the 650Ti is only a few dollars more than the 650, and you have about twice the performance.
Spend the extra £20 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-...rmal-4800mhz-gddr5-28nm-gpu-860mhz-1024-cores Or go 2nd hand. Any gpu with dual link DVI will do the resolution you are after.
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...-5400mhz-gddr5-gpu-1032mhz-cores-768-d-sub-dl this has two dual dvi outputs. Im guessing that would be ideal to use on two dell u2711s ?
