Just got my 2nd 580 sc fitted and have found it to be fantastic performance increase. Can run crysis 2 and max settings no probs where just the one would struggle, and it has been good all around.

3dmark11 extreme is still a slide show in places though with a score of x4100.

One thing have noticed it the temps though. Wow i forgot how hot these things get. I haven't got my WB for it yet so it gives a good comparison.

While running its hitting temps of 90c up from a idle of 48c, where the water cooled one is only hitting 45 up from a idle of 28c.

Should have my 2nd block in a few days so can't wait to get it fitted, yep forgot about the fan noise too dam.

I have two 580s running on air and the initial temps I was getting was ridiculous - 92C playing STALKER Clear Sky (the hottest game I own!).

I've since fitted two Gelid Icy Vision coolers, which have helped a lot.

Clear Sky is now down to 80C, while more modest games like Borderlands never top 65C.

Now if I was only brave enough to get water cooling like you have ...

Although i dont doubt for one minute that 580 SLI is awesome, but i was able to play Crysis 2 at max settings with a single stock 480. In fact, i think my 460 could handle it too!

    Otherwise.....awesome rig - enjoy :)

My tri SLI 580 run at a nice cool 48c after 4hrs of solid F1 2010 gaming. With my 1080 rad, and the OC in my sig. So water cooling is the way forward.

I've had 2 since launch. Serious gpu power! I can honestly say it's noticeable in some more taxing games when it's not turned on. Great scaling from SLi these days..

3 cards not so much, but hey e-peen is always nice :)

Also I'm a firm believer that GPU watercooling is a severe waste of time as I chop out too often, but that's just me. They rarely go above 80c and even if they did, it's still way within tolerance.

It's just a bit of noise, 'ya big fannies.

Ya nice, no wonder your getting good clocks. Plus it looks easy to maintain which i see as the only downside to water cooling

Just wondering at what res are you playing Crysis 2 that requires 2 580's to run smooth?

My single 580 couldn't play it at 1920 *1080 with the 1.9 patch, DX11 and Hi-Res texture pack - It did however, play perfectly fine before! Also, adding any of the other texture mods instantly makes it a b*tch to run.

I won't even be thinking about trying to play through it again at 2560*1440 until I at least get a second card (or next gen)!

You going to water cool in your FT02 if you get a second card?

Well, I was sorely, sorely tempted to get the second card and do a CPU, GPU, GPU single loop a while back - but the thought of doing it and then promptly (well, a few months) upgrading to Sandy Bridge E and a next gen graphics card in November put me off.

Now having seen the SB-E hard facts, and the poor excuse for X79 Chipset; I know it's not worth my while to upgrade. Also, the follow-up to the 5xx series from nvidia is nowhere to be seen and the HD7xxx is still well up in the air.

Having seen all the BF3 videos and that being my primary focus for now, I'm quoted "Dual 580's will be a safe bet" - So I'll certainly consider it! I will of course be mounting rads externally somewhere though!

Ha yeah I am very tempted to go GTX 570 SLI but I think I would have to watercool, seen a few loops in the FT02 but it looks like a lot of work!
