Just saw this on Overclockers UK, it appears Antec are bring out a new budget gaming case. Antec 100 One Hundred: With a black interior and a fair bit of cable management I reckon this could be a pretty decent case, definitely could contend with the 300 which is starting to seem a bit lacking in features.
Looks like it could be an very nice case for the price. Their naming scheme seems to be going all nvidia though
4 USB's on top. I like it already. 2 was never enough tbh and alot of low end motherboards always seem to have a header for another 2 USBs that never get used. Like.
Wierd, the only place on the net this appears is on Overclockers website, it isn't even on Antec's. Anyone seen anything else on it?
I guess it's just something we're all going to have to get used to, maybe they reckon this case is a pretty big deal and lets face it, 100 stands out more than 400. I find I don't really use the front panel USB's, only occasionally for things like memory sticks that I just want to plug in for a little bit. Looks liek standard Antec mesh to me. But i'm not sure about the weird asymmetric rectangles you can see behind the mesh, I wonder what they're for because they sure destrioy the sleek looks. According OCUK it has room for 2 front fans: -1 x top special 140 mm TwoCool™ fan - 1 x rear 120 mm TwoCool™ fan - 2 x front 120 mm fans for HDDs (optional) - 1 x side 120 mm fan for graphics cards (optional) Unfortunately only 2 exhaust fans are included though.
Pretty certain they'll be for the front 120's and made such that you can also put slide drives in the front.
It looks abit like a HAFF, but with less testosterone. Or if a Antec 300 got together with a HAFF 922 and this was the result. It takes the swollen head from it's 922 farther, and the internal layout from the 300 mother.
I'm not too bothered about the mesh, it's the quality of that plastic frame i don't fancy. But oh well, budget case. Far more expensive aswell.
If it is replacing the Antec 300 (at around the same price), the quality of the plastic on the Antec 300 is okay as far as plastic goes...but you are right, budget case.
Looks pretty decent for a budget case, and nowhere near as hideous as the stuff they've been releasing recently...
Wow, didn't notice that at first but you're right. Personally it looks like the lovechild of the 912 and the 300 to me though. As it seems to be just on the bezel hopefully you'll be able to replace it with the bezel that you'll have to take out for a DVD drive.
