Or by the same token, shut out the few who block ads. Stores use security such as spy cameras even if it upsets a few law-abiding customers. The majority appreciate the reasoning for it.
TBH, the only thing that annoys me with Bit-tech's ads is the CPU usage: - That's what I see when on the front page. I know it's a lot to do with Opera's carp flash support (or vice versa?) and my crusty system (s754 3200+) but it's consistent and forces me to either close the page or block the ads if I need the CPU time. (Though I always unblock it later - I do understand how it's needed)
i use adblock on every installation of firefox on every pc i use. I disable it for some sites (bit-tech, toms hardware, register, inquirer) largely because of the reasons above, but for some sites i just can't turn it off, large flash banners that take ages to load, and take up valuable real estate on my screen, i just can't be dealing with that. Also, when on my laptop using 3G on my phone, i disable all ads period. I am not going to pay per MB to be fed rubbish, i think this is Adblocks most useful feature, just like disabling pictures in my phones web browser.
